It is really hot in SoCal. I was planning to go but I may sit in AC and watch from home. Hoping it's a good webcast.

Can the meet be streamed from outside the us. Rojo, Wejo, anyone? Thanks
Yo, USATF TV is streaming the meet (I think though RunnerSpace) link here:
http://live.usatf.tv.s3-website-us-east
1.amazonaws.com/live.html
I don't know if that will work for out of the US. If it doesn't, there's an add on for Google Chrome called Hola that let's the browser act as though it's based in another country of your choice (also convenient for circumventing Netflix's regional offerings), so you can give that a try. Good luck!
Oxy is no where near the fires. It sits between Pasadena and Glendale. Air quality is fine. It's just gonna be very hot
It is obscenely hot everywhere in SoCal. The forecast for Eagle Rock is now 90F at 8PM. Any coach with any intelligence whatsoever is going to pull athletes for any non-championship, which this is. I fully expect Salazar to do this. If a guy like Centro has been having injury problems, why would you take a chance on strains due to dehydration that require even more weeks off?

USATF and Carrie Tolufsen tweeted it will be available in all countries. So yes, you can.
It seems hot from everything I'm reading but you don't pull your athletes due to hot weather. This IS good training for Outdoor Champs. #nowussyathletesplease
Ya i doubt they'll pull out of this meet. They're professional athletes. They'll just hydrate very well and stay in the shade on the west side of the field. Be one with the weather.
Heat really isn't a big deal for 1500 and below. 800 it probably helps. The 5000 doesn't go off until 10:40pm. Conditions will be perfect.

Dehydration? Running no more than 5,000m?
ha!
On my way to get dehydrated and watch this meet.
Hope to see some quick times, but probably unlikely with this weather.
It be nice if I could post pics directly onto the message board.
According to Fleshman, in women's 5k there is supposed to be a rabbit running 15:05 pace for Conley and another at 15:37.

Just sat down at Oxy. Phone says 99 but it doesn't feel more than 95.

This is gonna be STACKED!
Men's 1500m:
We have Centro making his 2014 1500m debut and he'll have a slew of guys like Leer (Wanamacker Mile winner at the millrose games and made the US indoor 1500m team), Levins (ran 4:55 in the 2k beating the Schumacher boys and only a second behing Lagat), Lomong (most experienced and has a 3:32 in his back pocket, is he still in that shape?), Heath (7:37 3k at NBIGP and just ran 13:16 which is good for a 1500m focused runner), and McNamara (3:34 in Europe last summer), Mead (just ran a 13:02 at Payton Jordan, nuff said), and Hill (ran 7;34 indoor and has a kick) on him! The 1500m probably has the most depth of the races!
P.S. don't forget guys like Pat Casay, Dorian Ulrey, Liam BP, Lee Emanuel, Rich Peters (Dicky P), Tony Jordaneck, Danny Stockenbeger, could make things interesting...
Men's 5,000m
In the 5k, Rupp is probabaly taking this easier since he's not doubling back from the 1500m like the past 2 years, and he might be working on his kick, because Nick MF Willis is in this 5k! We also have the Australian studs Jack Robinson (world indoor 3k qualifier), and Brett Robinson (ran 13:16 last year as a 21 year old and made the world final btw: he also has a 3:38 and is younger than Ryan Hill); also, Jee See (steeplem, 5k specialist), Aarun Braun (10k stud), Collis Birmingham, Kevin Batt (D2 guy who beat Saarel in the Husky Classic 3k, yeah....), and Ben Blankenship (just ran 3:39 at the Oregon Twilight)
Women's 5k
Only 13 girls? We'll Jordan Hasay (just ran 31:41, new mile and 3k PR's this indoor season, and is due for a big 5k PR) and Shannon Rowbury (8:31 3K pr, and made the US indoor 3k team), THE NOP's will be in it; Kim Conley and Julia Culley, 2 girls desperately need to stick there nose in it if they want a legit shot at the US team, then Lauren Fleshman (14:58 PR, but took some times off due to injury and kids, but she's looking to be back), but other than that, the field looks fairly weak
P.S. remember when Lauren Fleshman called out Jordan Hasay for that Grunewald DQ at US indoors? I didn't forget, Jordan already beat Grunewald at Carlsbad 5k, lets see if she can take Fleshman too
Women's 800m:
Brenda Martinex is back to the speed! She'll be making her season 800m debut in the event that gave her the most success last year, after a couple 5k's for endurance and that 1500m at Drake this could go sub 2; We also have Kate Grace (won Payton Jordan 1500m) is this field, Heath Kampf (made the 1500m US indoor team after Cain dropped), Phoebe Wright (1:58.22 PR looking to get back into shape), Zoe Buckman (looking for some 800m speed for her prime event: 1500), Lauren Wallace (Oiselle), Latavia Thomasm, Melissa Bishop, and Maggie Vessey (looking to come back and make a statement, she's broken 2 on many occasions)
Men's 800m:
We got Robby Andrews (who I believe just ran the 800 at the Oxy Invite (not Oxy HP) for a 1:46)- race favorite, we have Mike Rutt (he could probabaly slugg out a 1:45-1:46), James Gilreath (he ran 1:47 behind Leo Manzano at the Texas Relays and 1:47 at Music City Distance Carnival last year), Brian Gagnon (another NJNYTC stud who could sneak under 1:46), and then Eligah Greer (had a great career at Oregon, and really needs to prove himself today)
Women's 1500m:
Packed! Katie MF Mackey, showing she's not just a 1500m girls, but she has endurance! She went crazy at Payton Jordan and ran a 15:04, wow, race favorite? idk, we have Nicole Sifuentes, the former Millrose winner over Cain, and reperesented Canada at tons of Global events! We have Kim Conley (already stepping down from the 10k at Payton Jordan, DONT FORGET: she ran 4:24 at the New Balance Games indoor that got largely over looked die to Cain's 4:24 that same wknd), Viola Lagat (always mixing it up), Jemma Simpson (the Brit), Brie Felnagle (5k beast who broke 15:15 last year), Chelsea Riley, Genna Gall (800m Olympian, 1:59 PR and is moving up in distance), Sara Vaugn (she's all of the place in distance), Anne Kesselring (has had successful indoor miles in the past, former 800m NCAA champion), Lauren Johnson, Hiedi Gregson, Nicole Shapert, Lauren Penney (ran 4:31, 8:55 indoors, and just ran 15:30 at Payton Jordan), and Amanda Winslow (DONT FORGET: she ran 4:26 at the Boston Valentine!)
Men's 3k Steeple:
Matt Hughes (coming off a 13:2x 5k PR at Payton Jordan and has ran many sub-920 steeples), Dan Huling (looked like a boss pacing that Payton Jordan 5k through 3400m (8:23 at 3200m) so he's in shape!), since when did Henry Lelei get a Nike deal? (we'll he WAS a top NCAA steeple and has sub825 potential in this race), and last Donn Cabral (nice 13:22 last week at Payton Jordan, nice to see him back in shape after injuries, he was on streak 2 years ago, and he could very be back in form to win this)
Women's 3k Steeple:
Not going to lie, I literally know no names in this field... so... yeah... if anyone wants to come up with a synopsis for this, feel free
Thanks for reading my post guys! I loved breaking down the men's Payotn Jordan 5k field and now this! Give me your insight on the races and let me know what you think!
P.S. Sorry for any gramatical errors
- NOP Skeptic
Kim Conley is actually doing the pacing tonite for the 5k
She's competing in the 1500
It actually doesn't feel that bad at all. I believe it'll be perfect for the races.
WHo are the commentators?
I just turned it on. We've got Carrie T and who else.
Who is the female broadcaster on the stream?
It's over 90 in LA right now. Predicted temps by weather.com.
