By who?
Obiri 8:20
Another Kenyan right there
Didn't seem names, too busy crying about my fantasy league team captain getting crushed
Wow, what a finish by Obiri (8:20.68) over Cherono. Dibaba looked drained back in 6th, is she sick?
Dibaba probably injured. She was limping afterwards and when she removed her shoe you could she that her foot was taped/bandaged.
Dibaba did manage to PB, albeit ten seconds off her indoor PB.
G Dibaba continues the pattern where she does great indoors and x-country and then something always happens during the outdoor season.
So the diamond league site says the 3k women's WR is 8:06... by a chinese woman... in 1993... seems legit.

I agree. This is so odd.
The US short sprints continue to confound. This makes 3 races this year for English Gardner looking terrible and each a little slower, actually a tenth slower each time down the track in past month. I wondered why she chose to move to new coach after having a great 3 years at Oregon.
Curtiss Mitchell stunk it up in his first showdown of the season vs the Jamaicans.
I believe its high time the US shoe companies start supporting sprints more as has been done in distance. The current US training options for post-collegiate sprinters is limited and some of those choices are less than ideal. Until we do there will be no stopping the Jamaicans and others are catching up like the Brits and French.

This must be really devastating for her. The Kenyans however seems to have fully prepared for any eventuality. Faith Chepngetich in fourth was running her first official 3000m and did very well in my opinion, just less than 3 seconds off the winning time.
I have the Dish World app installed and have got the 48 hour trial going, how do I watch the Meet "on-demand" now?
Here are videos from the meet:

Men's 800:

You're welcome.
Were there any Kenyans in the steeplechase?
Dibaba ran an outdoor PR and came in 6th. The Kenyans raised the bar. And the first two laps were slow. I think that record is history. They were on her heels all the way and she cracked. She wasn't expecting any competition in this race.
I don't know if Obiri will break the WR, but this could be good or bad for Genze.
She committed to the 3K so she could win the Diamond League and avoid Aregawi at the 1500. Now she is back in the pack. The Ethiopians were in a state of shock, they came there looking for a WR

I hope you understand now.
What a race!!!
Yes, I know AMan won but this race was perfect.
It shows Aman has the heart of a lion. He just finds a way.
But he doesn't normally find a way against Rudisha. I think Amos has Rudisha like talent.
So we have the heart of lion versus supreme talent.
Amos told Steve Cram he's only 75%. Given that fact, I think he'll be better than Aman at the end of the year.
I agree with you: this race was definitely a point in Amos' favor as for being as good or better than Aman.
I guess what I am saying is there's still not much evidence for what Amos' actual talent is. After two or three more races, if pattern from this race holds, I'll concede the point.
I just think that most of the hype around Amos comes from one race that was heavily "aided" by the conditions. Once Amos develops a reputation that doesn't depend mostly on that one race, I'll be ready to consider him as good as you seem to be, Rojo. As for now, I'm still not convinced he's better than a distant third, although this race was certainly a point in his favor. What a race!
The Kenyan girls shadowed her step for step, didn't run as if they were competing for second, and when she hadn't shaken them off with 500m to go, I knew we were in for a fantastic last lap.
Dibaba burned so hot and bright indoors it is not at all surprising that she would acquire an injury. When you have a breakthrough the adrenaline can conceal the damage you are actually doing. This is where a great coach earns his pay-holding back a charging stallion before they hurt themselves.
As for Obiri ever threatening 8:06...maybe when butterflies fly to the moon.

Hmmm. Trying to figure this out myself.
The Dish World page says "8-Day Replay auto-records every channel. Never miss a moment of your favorite shows. No DVR needed."
And when I logged into watch the meet live it said, "Watch live" or "start from beginning".
I'm trying to figure it out now. Maybe it takes a little while for it to archive? Anyone figure this out? If so email me
wejo@letsrun.comDibaba is not injured, she ran an outdoor PR. Here come the excuses again. I realize everyone wants her to be the next superstar, but she is inconsistent and doesn't have the killer instinct of her sister or Aregawi.
Aregawi is the real mid-distance star right now.
Genze can still come back and do something special this year. This was one race. Obiri, Cherono and Kipyegon are all going to push her hard
