Is anyone else as excited about this as I am? I've never raced more than a marathon, but this ultra-distance event:

promises to be a great pre-race event for the London Marathon. If the British aren't whipped into a frenzy by watching an actual Survivor (sorry, but that CBS junk is a load of crap) event right before Paula Radcliffe runs the London Marathon (she is running, correct?), then I don't know what will excite them (football, maybe?).
These runners will be running on the London Marathon course with a special support bus trailing them. I don't know how they're going to avoid London traffic for 1000 hours, but we'll find out.
I ran a 24-hour relay in college and it was tough. No sleep, plus the warm-up/cool-down of your muscles never stops.
If anyone owns "Lore of Running," check out p. 343 for more about Captain Barclay. He was the first to do 1000 miles in 1000 hours and he recommends "mutton chops underdone, with stale bread and beer."
