None other than Alberto said this. That's a relief if you ask me.

But look at what AlSal has done to Hasay. Rupp also. Too boney.

You run at least 90mpw and do lots of hydro works/Alter-G shit plus weights to top it all off and massage run down sessions all day, how can you NOT look thin?
Wiry strong!!
Hasay actually looks a lot better now than she did a few months ago

Total puff-piece from Runnersworld.
When you see the likes of Cain, Baxter, Hasay, Huddle, Flanagan, or any other elite female distance runner in person it's very clear that "being skinny" is mandatory. Muscle is needed, but not much at the speeds they run.

All that muscle and she still can't stay balanced on her feet!
5'6" 115 and she looks like a monster compared to most of the other women. Sorta proves the point, thanks.

She looks more muscular because her leg muscles are contracting as her foot hits the ground. Everyone else that you can see is in the air.
I don't know much about this Alberto Salazar guy, but he seems to know what he's talking about. If you go to 1:28 of this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fws3wgj7les
, you'll see that he has one of his runners doing CrossFit-style sprints.
More and more distance runners are realizing that if they want SPEED, then jogging long miles isn't going to help. There's a movement in the distance running community towards incorporating more HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) and use of non-running methods of building running strength. If you go to 6:30 of this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUMqOEDhLkU
, you'll see that Asbel Kiprop is jumping rope a la Rich Froning.

Did you not notice her broad, ripped shoulders?

Ripped doesn't equal muscular. It just means she has really low body fat. Her shoulders only look broad because both her shoulders are facing the camera, while the others aren't. You can't really see how broad the shoulders are of the other women. Shes not muscular. Anyone can look like that with single digit body fat.
I know you're a troll, but I couldn't help myself.
CrossFit-Style sprints? Runners have been doing what Alberto and Rupp have been doing for DECADES. You moronic CrossFit people have just rebranded the s***t that runners have been doing for years. Not only that, but you make it sound like it was CrossFit that came up with it in the first place. You didn't.
There's a 'movement' that has been around since 1937. It's called SPEED play, or FARTKLEK in Swedish.
Anything these Kenyans are doing has nothing to with your pathetic man-god Rich Froning. Their training group has probably done this sort of thing for years.

He doesn't look muscular because he is in the air. If his leg muscles had been contracting as his foot hit the ground he would have looked like a beast.
Action speak louder than words.
While I am glad Alberto Canova is finally coming to senses, I still remember how his own Meb Farah fell without being impacted to the ground in the NYC Marathon in March (during the race and afterwards).
Hint: if you can't support yourself from falling down, you're not STRONG enough.
I am with you on this one. I am sure X-fitters are going to take down track records soon. Muscle is underrated.
when it comes down to it, being a skinnyfat/twig runner is a pathetic existence, and most women will laugh at you
If you're going to be skinny at least get real abs to go with noticeable chest and bicep muscles taking into account the fact that you probably won't be in the Olympic 10k final anytime soon
