Doubtful it's OTC Elite. They just signed Sheila Reid, and if they were going to shut down, she would have 100% gone elsewhere.

The athletes in OTC Elite still under contract will just go to one of Nike's other groups. The ones with expiring contracts will be on their own.
For purpose of this discussion. Which groups are considered "major"? The NYNJ is a "mid-major" in my book.

I consider NY/NJ a major because of Gags
also
Bowerman TC
NOP
OTC
Hansons
Brooks Beasts
ZAP
Team USA Minnesota
Fuhrman
I am sure that I am forgetting a few.
Is BATC considered major? They have the fastest downhill miler of all the clubs, I believe.
I might make sense, a couple of their top women are pregnant and none of their men are running at a top level recently.
sorry. Yes, I knew I forgot a few.
Why do some consider Nj/NY mid-level? They have world championship and Olympic qualifiers on the team. I also find it hard to believe they would be the ones shutting down as they added a ton of people to the roster.

I heard Alberto has always wanted to go back home to Boston where all of his people are. Now that Alberto has coached a few medals, Phil is in complete agreement and is happy to fund the relocation. The tiff with Jerry moved up the date before 2015 Worlds of Beijing instead of after.
LOL hasn't Salazar been in Oregon for more than half his life?
Al Sal is returning to Baaasten and taking his runners along. Nike is going to trash New Balance.
Rogue.

My guess is OTC Elite. They don't have any studs left after Symmonds left. Mostly second tier mid distance guys now. Nike probably wants to focus resources on NOP and BTC (Jerry).
As long as Lananna is running TrackTown USA, this group will be around.

1/10 Sour grapes.
First, Stotan is not a major training group. It's for sub elites.
Second, I keep up with the team and they tend to cycle through their runners pretty quick. What happened to all the kenyans and Mike Fout?
~Sour Grapes.
I was just looking at track.
Look at who has recently been cut from the roster to figure out who the sour grapes are. Research their performances since having been cut. I see two sub 2:20 marathoners who were cut last summer, both of whom just ran 2:29 and 2:33 at Boston. Not a group for sub-elites, the sub-elites are those who've been cut. Kenyans? Speaking of the 40 year old marathoner who moved to Minnesota to raise his son? Mike Fout had plans to join the NAVY, then decided to start a career rather than compete any longer. He took job as a Mizuno rep in DC. Looking at the results on their site, Fout ran very well with Stotan before he stopped running. 14:03 road, 29:29 on the hilly Brooklyn 10k course. Looking at their records page, Stotan looks to be a group for the 4:00 miler, the 16:02 5k woman, the 9:08 3k woman, the 70:56 HM woman, the sub 2:20/65:00 marathon man.
Maegan Krifchin went to Stotan, right out of college didn't she? 11th at World HM Champs, wasn't she top American ahead of Flanagan or Goucher? 2nd at US Half champs? She joined Team NAE last fall. Anyone know what she has done on the roads last year/this year?
