Still windy? I saw a -4.5 wind in the men's long jump.

Good observation. The jumps have a lot of vairable wind, from -2.x to +2.z, with a lot of low marks. Note that low marks can mere indicate strong winds that are cross winds, as opposed to little wind. Given the vairation in direction and speed this would seem to imply swirling winds; not good for the runners.
The woman's steeple had Kipp winning in 9:39 (while Anna Willard was next to last in 10:18), which is not a particularly fast mark, although her PR is not that much faster.
It's typical that it's breezy in the early evening. Almost always dies down for the late elite distance races.
Somebody brought up a 2010 Payton Jordan thread and you can see people were worrying about the wind early. Then Solinsky ran 26:59.
Tonight we've had a 1:45 800m from a guy whose previous PB was 1:48. So it can't be that bad.
As far as relevant names go, Bumbalough ran an 8:49 2 mile, winning at Arcadia early Spring his junior year, then never ran another competitive 2 mile in high school again. He improved everything else drastically from junior to senior year so it's likely he could have run much faster at 2 mile while peaking senior year than he did early junior year.

Very funny.

Is there a place to follow this race LIVE on the message boards?

Ok, who's got the money on this one.
Bump
Nice race. True and Mead are now in US all-time top 10. For an early season race, that's sweet. Hopefully them and Lomong, Derrick, Jager and Hill will get some chances to run with the big boys in Diamond League series and get some serious times. I expect Rupp and Lagat will aim for shaving off more time from the AR too.
