No amount of lame ass petitioning is going to save track, xc, etc. XC will not be "saved" until you clueless shits start buying season tickets to XC meets.

Yeah...he's right. My school dropped track my freshman year (thus I transfered imediately having to use my valuable redshirt year) and there was a petition going around. It even made front page of the paper and there was the administration, "If all those who signed the petition went out for track, it would not be a problem. Any class with low enrollment has the risk of being dropped." (I guess 30-40 people in a class is classified as "low." I also am guessing the basketball team must be in risk every year then.) The also sited some title 9 crap and said that alothough they were dropping mens and womens track they were starting womens soccer. The bottom line is they care about money and they are going to do what they want, no matter how many people sign a petition. Heavy media pressure is the only thing that gets peoples attention now days and even that doesn't work most of the time. Sorry about sharing the dismal bleek reality and good luck, I wish you the best in your efforts for a different outcome.

why would you have to use your redshirt year since you get the one time exemption with "non-major" sports when transferring?
