And finally back to women with an apology for technical difficulties. It was stuttering from the get go. Shalane is still on insanity pace.
How do they not have redundancy in their cameras in feeds to make sure you have a backup plan? Seem like they cut corners on the coverage.
the BAA feed is not working in Denmark, such a shame-- this sport needs visibility...
Rawson: "It's a lot like a Broadway play in that you're getting a standing ovation the whole way."
What? People give standing ovations during the "whole way" of a play?
15K splits
Shalane - 49:08 - 2:18:11 pace
Desi - 50:52 - 2:23:05 pace
Both look consistent. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds at the end.

In fairness, Kim got injured so we might not expect quite the same result.
But Kim wasn't going quite as fast either, even if the tail wind was stronger that day.
Here are her 5k splits from 2011:
5 16:41
10 33:29
15 50:09
20 1:07:11
Half 1:10:52
25 1:24:15
Shalane just ran.
5 16:10
10 32:34
I don't see this ending well.
Interesting they are way faster.
The difference is the field is together going this pace.
Seems unlikely they ALL crash and burn, but who knows. Women have never gone out like this before in Boston. Unknown territory.
The women's feed is lost in the media room too. Splits are being given out.
I can't wait for the women to start paying for that pace.

Feed sucks rofl. Women's feed doesn't exist, and the mens feed is going somewhere between 10 pixels and low definition.
Why is it that TV can't help but fvck up running coverage, unless it's BBC, and then if Mo is in the race they spend 75% of it talking about him.
At least the servers can handle the load this year, there have been worse years...
I wonder if with the new Nike deal, streaming for meets and road events will involve better camera equipment? Obviously they wouldn't do it for something like Boston, which is an Adidas event, but maybe for Chicago or NY, or USATF's, etc.?
I predict Shalane will develop a bad "cramp" at the 20-mile mark and be forced to drop out even though she felt "very comfortable."
It's amazing how bad Universal sucks. It's a perfect day, sunny, only a few clouds, so what's the problem?
Their English grammar is probably better than yours.

Knowing what she's doing doesn't mean she's going to be successful.I pray that she is! But this is CRAZY fast! She isn't dropping anyone from that group. Why not tuck in behind someone for a few miles and give yourself a break. Doesn't this leading take its toll?
