Why lead? Don't get the strategy. She is not the fastest women in this pack. Even if in great shape, leading?

So one of the top American women forgot the race was today and the other is on track for a collapse, good start
Who thinks Hall can beat Hartmann? Jason's been Mr. Consistent in this race (back to back 4th). Hall's been Mr. Erratic (DNS/DNF). Would love to see Jason break him.
Shalane obviously doesn't believe in what coach Hanson says about going fast on the downhills ruining your quads for later in the race, but Desi does. We will see who is right.
Baa projected finish:
Shalane - 2:16:40
Desi - 2:22:42
Weather update at the 10k mark on the course:
57.8 degrees and wind from sW at 2.5 mph
The seem to have missed the 4 mile split.NEver mind. they are reporting 2046 so that's another 510.
Now that's fast.
American finish like this: Meb, Abdi, Jason, Hall DNF

Is that Michael Wardian with the long hair and beard?
Yep.
Men's race started. Hall looks very very fresh! Strong early on.
Men on their way, Meb and Hall looked to go to the front.
Shalane blows it and concedes the race in the first mile. I guess she didn't get enough TV time on 60 minutes. I hope Desiree Davila wins today. Shalane is just as much an idiot as the one guy every year who sprints at the start to get on TV by himself and tell his buddies he lead the race.

Give him that first place trophy already!
2611 for 5th ;mile. So that's 525. But they said 522.
local announcers complaining about G. Mutai's run not being recognized as marathon world record since Boston course is "so hard".
is there an alternative feed to the main one?
would rather watch elite women than the men milling around the start...

Weather conditions for men's start: 60 degrees W/SW wind at 1.5 mph
1st mile split 4:49 for mile. 19 men in lead pack.
kim smith tried this 2011...remember what happen?
Where's the elite women's race? Totally abandoned by the coverage for some reason.
Shalane at 10K in 32:34 - 2:17:21 pace
Desi at 10K in 33:56 - 2:23:10 pace
