also I think Kipketer chasing with Getachew and Kigen.
Bekele leading Tola

Bekele leading Tola
The TV "distance" is off so I don't think my last "split" is trustworthy.
It looked like they went through a big 30K marker at about 1:28:34? ~2:04:30
No, it's still a two-man race
holy shit!
huge move from KB. he's put 10s between him and Tola in the last minute or 2.
Almost 20 miles...
...we'll soon know if Bekele has been following a clean, paleolithic based diet of bone marrow and barbecue and is fully fat adapted, or if his skinnyfat Ethio grub has failed him like it has most letsrunners.
Why didn't Bekele choose Rotterdam for example for his first attempt? He could have run WR in his first attempt.
And off Bekele goes!!!
Bekele way out alone.
Still wondering if brilliant or insane. Remembering Emmanuel Mutai at London two years back...
30k 1:28:39
Bekele looks to be 5-10s up on Tola, who is maybe 10s up on the three chasers
Wait...KB's get a decent lead now
Bekele now has a good gap on Tola.
KB just took off, he's got to be going for sub 2:04.
1:28:39 at 30 K
1:14:00 at 25K
he was getting serious there. not too tired. he's getting ready to
race harder now.
actually Tola is blowing up - the chase pack is swallowing him up. KB a clear leader now by himself.
14:39 last 5k
Wow. Kenny's gunning it

Glad to realize the commentating is just as bad on European broadcasts as it is int he US.
So Bekele went to the lead some 1:20 into the race?
Can't Paris get some decent pace makers?
At what point did Bekele take the lead? Incredible. So 16 miles into the race, he's all alone?
I agree, they are horrible at giving splits of any kind and some that they've given were wrong. Bekele had chasers Tola and Kipketer until about 30k when he lost them.
KB's broken Tola and on his own now. Looks like an 8 second gap already. I'm calling undisputed G.O.A.T.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
