Taylor's time is impressive, no doubt.
There is precedent for this--Mike Powell. Those of us who know anything know of his exploits.

( 18.40 + with +1.3 )
that is too much endurance but not indicator of a 1-off whopper like walt davis in '04 trials who's jump was likely
18.50+ if kept his leg straight & got +1.3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCsEQNveiOUYeah but keeping that leg straight takes extreme power and strength vent.
Exactly it's like saying if a high jumper had better technique he would jump higher or if a sprinter was faster he would run a better time.

Farah is the best 5k/10k runner in the world and has FOUR gold medals in the last 2 Olympics and World outdoor championships. Why would he do another event, like the 1500m, half-marathon or full-marathon?
Because he ran 3:28 and 1:00.xx for the half. Plus a 2:05.xx potential in 42k.
In a pre-season interview Christian Taylor stated he would focus on the 400 through USATF, then triple jump on the European circuit.

Ummm, 205xx potential for 42 leaves him 0.2km short of the finish line. DNF potential?
