I'm very impressed by Brenda's form in her first race of the season - Carlsbad. I think she can run as fast as 3:56 this summer.

I hope so. She makes our country look good lol

Yes, there is a lot of talk about her good looks, but this girl has put in a serious winter of training and is ready to destroy a 1500m race. 15:20 for her opener, plus 1:57 800m speed makes for a great AR 1500m this summer.
The other thing I like about her is that she is all in. She trains at Big Bear. She travels down to sea level for training. She is doing everything in her power to run fast. Also, she has always been a very gutsy tough racer. She has it all.
I was disappointed with the 5k time in terms of the degree
of hard, fast training. I think she was too.
agreed. she's capable of 15-flat or better based on her workouts. hopefully she gets in a fast 5K with good conditions in the coming months, she'll throw down!!!

Oh man I no what you mean. She trains so hard its just ridiculous. Some of the workouts she does are insane. Like one workout was 2mile-1mile, goal 950-435, actual 946-432. The same week she also hit 13x400 in 65 and another workout of 4x1mile under 450. And those aerobic tempos she does every week of 8-12 miles sub 6 pace. She trains so hard. I'd almost argue she trains too hard, but it clearly works for her.

Carlsbad is not a fast course. And there was a headwind the second half that broke a lot of runners. Put her on a track or a flat course and i'm sure she can run 15 low.
anyone else notice that BM is the only runner no one says anything bad about on lrc?
why is that?

Respect for her work, and respect for her mentoring.

Also, she is ridiculously good looking.

You realize you're putting that British chick in 14:40 range now then?
Carlsbad has a big downhill, a couple tight turns, but it's fast.
Look at all the runners who ran at or better than their track bests on that course.
She has said it herself on her instagram, "We train the right way. The hard way. The Vigil way." So I think her training is meant to be really tough. Or at least tougher than what you would think is normally necessary.

Are you putting Lagat in the 13:20 range?
20 seconds is an accurate difference for a rabbited, DL track performance. When was the last time Lagat or Dejen didn't break 13:10 on the track?
Bleasddale is as good or better than Huddle or Flanagan at their peak. Brenda is right at or just under 15:00, putting her just ahead of a number of U.S. women who will run 15:00-15:10 this year. Conley might get under as well.
As for the 1500, 3:56 would represent an ideal race; 3:57-8 seems very doable though.

What a silly apples to oranges comparison. Julia Bleasdale is a seasoned 5k/10k runner who does these kinds of races all the time. Bmart is new to competing at this distance (and on the roads) and doesn't have nearly the strength or experience as Julia. Consequently the rate of improvement of the two can not be assumed to be the same.
This thread is useless without pics. I nominate BM for the offical "LetsRun Bun Hugger" model.
nobody talks bad about her because she is an extremely hard working and talented American that is good looking and shes very open about her training which people love to read and hear about.
My favorite pro runner.
Great personality, great range, and likely the fastest clean middle-distance woman on the planet.
Dope as hell too.
GO B-MART GO!!!!!!!
Moar pictures pleez!!!
Brenda, Sarah brown and vessy are my top 3
