BMart looked solid with a 15:24 for 4th.
Still I think she is exaggerating on those training logs.
15:24 is a great opener for Martinez. Don't forget that she has run 1:57 for 800m.
3rd (20-29)
Seems LV just dipped under 15.
Where are the RESULTS? Official results of just the elite races. All 18 or 19 runners. How tough is that?

I want to do that morning run.
The link above is very worth reading and watching.
Thanks to LetsRun for making the live feed of the race available.
Both races were great. Fast first mile followed by a slight uphill and headwind after the first turn. That'll take the starch out of most runners.
'Borderline racist and negative'. Is that supposed to be a joke? Are you new here? You leave outright racist threads up all the time.

Some guy wrote something like that. I deleted it as it was so borderline racist and negative.
Bet he feels like a moron.[/quote]

Another AR for Lagat.
How many is that? The guy is amazing.
Should not be recognized for an American record, sorry.
Got to change the criteria here. People that have completed for another nation should not be eligible.

What's more, she is a WC medalist at 800. I wonder is she can go sub 15? Has anyone ever done this - 1:57 and sub 15?

Interesting question, although sub 2/sub 15 are a little more generous and round numbers are always nice. Rowbury springs to mind because she has such heartbreaking PRs - 2:00, 4:00, 15:00. I would think Mary Decker would have easily done it had women run the 5k in her day. 8:25 for 3k and 31:35 for 10k are pretty good, especially off of the mid-d training she was doing.
i'm a huge BMART fan but gonna have to agree with this at least on some level...those two workouts she posted about on twitter & instagram (4xmile in sub4:50, 2 mile in 9:48 + 1 mile in 4:36) are workouts for somebody who should be running well under 15min (i ran 15 low on the track last weekend and there is no way in hell i could do either in training!).i'll believe she did them, i just hope she isn't putting her best efforts into training sessions. regardless, 20s better than last year @ Carlsbad is fantastic. go BMART!

Sooo… what you're saying is:
A. that you don't believe that anyone should ever be allowed to take US citizenship?
B. that runners who take US citizenship should not be treated like people in other professions?
C. that you are scared sh%^less by Bernard Lagat?
I'm guessing C.
Official race directors position on results.
Results
Results will be posted on Roosevelt Street approximately one hour after each race. Results will also be posted online after 7:00pm PST on race day

I could fly from NYC to CaliLaLa land and read the mimeograph sheet tacked up on the lamppost before the results gets posted on the web?
any of the dibabas could probably medal in the 800 as well. they're closing distance races in 2:03ish nowadays (just a guess)
I think martinez went out too fast. she's got balls for sure, but to run 15:25 off of a 4:44 first mile isn't good. she faded a ton in that last mile, and even though 15:24 is a PR for her, she's certainly capable of better. hopefully she'll race some 1500s and a 5000 or two this season. i'd bet she runs 3:58 and 15 flat

Mary Decker ran 1:56/15:06.
Does anyone have a listing of at least Top 10 finishers in men's race?

Beautiful country. Wonder if garmin works there, with all that open space and nothing for satellites to ping off of

More importantly, that was a 20 second improvement from last year, where she was 5th. And remember that the second lap of an 800 is primarily aerobic.
My Kentucky windage chart says 2:00 has the same level of excellence as 15:10.
