Stand on your head whistling dixie.
Anyone have any crazy pre-race superstitions or rituals you do before your race? Post them here!
It's worth noting Athletics Weekly has an article out where scientists say they can actually help performance as they "can distract an athlete from anxiety or nerves."

Whenever I hear the term "pre race ritual" I remember reading an interview where Alan Webb said his pre race ritual was "warming up". I wonder if he misunderstood the question or was trying to make a point.
12 oz of beet juice and half a cliff bar 4 hours before race.
Ask Leo Manzano lol
I always sleep in the closest walmart parking lot the night before an out of town race. I go in and buy one of those huge subs they sell beside the deli. I eat one third of it for a late night snack. I eat another third for breakfast before the race. I still have the last third for after the race.
Go to the bathroom at least 10 times before the race..... Also budge those in line for the portapotty that aren't racing
If I'm running a road 5K, I always try to jog the course. Sometimes i carry on a conversation with myself, telling myself where I'll be hurting bad (crests of hills, the final half mile, etc.) and where I'll make my move, such as it is.
a beer the night before, and a cinnamon bun the morning of. also need to wear my lucky sunglasses, even if its not sunny
My totally weird & obsessive superstition:
I shave (w/ clippers) the hair under my forearms, back of hands and knuckles. It has absolutely zero benefit (other than triggering my mind, lol). I can't start a big race unless I do this!
Pee at least twice on nearby buildings in a discrete spot even if port a cans are available.
When I was a freshmen I ran my fastest indoor mile the day after I first watched Mean Girls, so now I watch Mean Girls before every track meet
