Approximately the last 250M of the race are a smoking-fast downhill. Behind a couple of Africans it will be BMart, GG, and Hasay, who really belongs in the 10K-marathon range.

the presss release listed only 1 african in the womens race gotytom gebreselassie (I dont think she is related to haile)
I think Lindsey Scherf could be in the mix she ran a 32:32 10k on the roads last weekend and has recently changed her training to work specifically on developing her 5k speed.---I see her in the 15:25-15:40 range on the roads.

Jordan looked flat at USA indoors, but not too suprisingly considering the workouts shown after her indoor races. Seems like they were really hammering. Or maybe she just isn't as good at alitude as others.
I have a feeling she got a little break and will have her legs under her here. Too bad Shannon isn't racing as well. I had the impression GG was more of a miler that can do well in a slower 3K with her speed. A bit like El G at 5K. Has she run a fast 5K?

i think hasay will win because she has professional coaching.

Hopefully GG gets banned for life if she knocks around more people. Her pathetic race at USA's was only outdone by the pathetic outcry which she helped push.
Salazar and Nike were the victims...they shouldn't have had to appeal at all to get her dq'd. That's the real tragedy as they were made out as the bad guys. If USATF did their job and dq'd her the first time we'd have no mess.
Can we also say goodbye to Will Leer? We don't need wanna be I stand for moron-ness speaking on our behalf trying to pretend to be some savior of our sport. What an idiot.
Um... Ban gg, Nike just called, you need to pick up your pay check!

Yes. Post of the day.
If Brenda backed off the past 2 weeks and didn't destroy
herself, she's going sub 15.
Ummm... ever heard of Jordan Hasay?

Nice try, any half brain person or smarter knows she deserved to be dq'd, but you pathetic supporters keep trying to claim everyone who speaks out against the sad display of GG her husband, leer and the girls who held hands is from Nike. Almost everyone I know watching it immediately thought she should be dq'd during the race. Those that didn't understand track asked "is that allowed".

I bet you Hasay has had a really good tapering session w/ a few races under her belt, while B Mart hasn't really had much racing lately, and might be using this one as a rustbuster for her later events in the year...

I certainly wouldn't doubt it, when she ends up winning, everyone is going to be surprised
Hasay will win, 15:35, B Mart will run fastest last 800 of the race, but fall short of Hasay, Grunewald will get dropped, Amy will run a smart race, but won't have the extra gear the last 1k
Hasay gets 4th, later found she gets 1st due to Salazar appeals
Hasay will get into a football stance and take out grundewald right at the start. Race officials will be confused, timid and hesitant over the grundewald trampling at USA indoors and will let everyone race on. That's my prediction.
Salazar has prepared Hasay for this race to really hammer a good time, he knows what he is doing and he will make sure Hasay is really fit. Difference betweeen Hasay and the other 3 americans? Hasay will always put herself in position to win, and she may not, but she tries and this will play in her favor... I say Hasay wins, top 3!
Hasay will be aggressive from the start and will put some distance on Gabe. Gabe will lose sight of Hasay and will not bother with finishing strong. Hasay beats Gabe.
Its hard to judge Brenda's level of fitness but I think she is confident enough to stay with Hasay. Brenda outkicks Hasay.
A bunch of us "slow pokers" from Arizona came here to participate in the festivities. We saw Jordan this evening walking-jogging the course. She looks very fit and very tan, by the way.

Brenda was 5th last year, with a time just slightly slower than Hasay's 5000 track PR. The Ethiopian, also in this year's race, was 4th last year. I think and hope that Brenda can win it this year.
Hasay hasn't won a race since high school. If she weren't a cute blond, no one would care.
