The pressure on the USATF from social media (including LRC) to do the right thing with the GG DQ meant that GG went to Sopot instead of Hasay. Those are tangible results.
On the bigger issues, the USATF ignores elite athletes at its peril if it doesn't want to go the way of the AAU.
GG went to Sopot because her high-powered agent Paul Doyle reps some of the biggest names in the sport, most notably Ashton Eaton, who features prominently in Nike TV advertising.
Bumbi is being ignored because his agent Tom Ratcliffe reps only distance runners, none of whom have ever appeared [to my knowledge] in anyone's TV ads.
