RE: Former NAU 28:20 guy Bo Reed "arrested on eight counts of sexual conduct with a minor"
28:20, huh? That's pretty close to wejo's pr, right? I wonder how long before he goes down for this too?

OK, so not a pedophile, but we all know that most high school runner chicks are far from developed. Keep telling yourself that this is a mutual situation. Had the coach acted as an authoritative figure and not a friend this would never happen.
Has the girl been arrested? They were both involved in the same act of their own volition. If that act is illegal, aren't they both guilty?

No, we don't all know that. You're just making things up. What does 'far from developed' even mean? Most girls are finished with puberty before 17. Everything else is jsut gaining or losing weight wwhich has nmothing to do with how developed they are. There are skinny 30 yr olds and there are fat 30 yr olds.
And it's irrelevant anyway. He didn't hook up with most high school runner chicks. He hooked up with ONE. She may be fully developed or she may not. None of us know.
Why should I keep telling myself that it was mutual? I never ever told myself or anyone else that it was mutual. Learn to read. I said it's possible that it was mutual. You're really displaying your ignorance here. I've seen several examples of high school girls trying to initiate relationships with older guys. That is the definition of mutual and not being preyed upon.
Sure, it should never have happened, but that doesn't make the guy a predator.

Ok so maybe not pedophile's but seriously if you think they did not prey/take advantage of these girls your mistaken. They could have spurned the any advances that came there way...simple as that.
As a 17 year old, she was mature enough and had the capacity to make decisions on her own, including sex. Hell, I was 17 when I entered college. Most kids are 18. She's an adult. If she was "taken advantage of," that's one thing, but it wasn't because she was a minor and didn't have the capacity to decline the advances.
9/10
I still contend that if he was acting in the capacity of a coach then this would not have happend. These coaches allow themselves to get into this situation by becoming friendly with the athlete. They need to lay down the law.

Totally agree. As a coach you should respect the institution and hold a firm line.
With coaching females they require a different style than men. There is a difference. Sometimes a more friendlier, compassionate, more attentive approach makes a big difference in their motivation and confidence and work ethic. And most of the best female runners I've ever been around were heavily influenced by male figures, mainly a dominating father or coach. Without that influence they wouldn't have focused on athletics to begin with.
Even a single phone call just to say you looked good at practice turns a whole season around for a female individual. But that is probably wrong too.
I am certain in cases like this, this man is no threat or danger to society he just lost himself foolishly.
He didn't ruin her life but he messed his life up big-time.
Humanity is complicated. He should never be allowed to coach teenage girls again but he should be able to get a second chance to earn a living in his career without the stigma of being some sort of felonious child molestor.

the girl is 17 ffs
imagine she is 17 years old and 364 days when the poor dude gets arrested. Does something magically happen the next day where all is well and good but 1 day earlier is not? NO!
If she were a few months older this would be a non-story (it already should be), but since she is (gasp!) 17!!!, the dude will be labeled a PEDOPHILE for life.
stupid overbearing fathers just can't imagine their perfect little princesses fvcking. they would rather them bang a knuckle headed, rash, dopey teenager, rather than an older, mature adult who can help nurture and offer guidance to her.
if she wasn't his athlete this wouldn't even be a story
this entire thing is so stupid
Did you fail logic or something? Very stupid statement. By your logic there should be no age. Any age given you can be within 1 day of. You have to draw the line somewhere. Maybe 18 isn't right, but your logic is brain dead stupid.

If I send my daughter to school and she goes out for the track team, you're damn right I don't want her "older, mature adult" of a coach having sex with her.
That's okay because the next year when she's 18 and in college she's gonna meet me out and we'll bang.
Legal age of consent should be 16. Having age of consent at age 18 is simply insane. These days, by the time the typical girl turns 18, she’s already had multiple sexual partners, and is more sexually experienced than many 30 year old men. Again, there is nothing you can do to stop this reality. It’s happening whether you like it or not, whether it’s legal or not.
So let’s be adults about this and have laws that make sense in the real world. Age of consent at age 18 is just as stupid as having marijuana illegal. All it does is waste taxpayer dollars, waste government resources, bring horrific pain and suffering to a lot of innocent people who are harming no one, and let a tiny handful of uptight anal-retentive ass.holes to use the force of government to oppress everyone else.
Have several legal categories that are less than “sex offender”. Right now, there is literally no legal status less than “sex offender” in these cases. You’re either 100% innocent, or you’re a SEX OFFENDER for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. This is insane.
A 48 year-old guy having consensual sex with a 17-year-and-eleven-month-old girl is not a sex offender or child molester or a threat to his community.
Have penalties for violation of age of consent (which should be 16!), be a sliding scale, starting with a very light slap on the wrist when the younger person is almost age of consent. Have punishments get more and more harsh as you approach age 13 or 12. Hey, if you fvck a 12 year-old, then yeah, you’re a fvcking sex offender and a creepoid. I agree. But a consensual 17 year-old who already fvcked eight other guys? Uh, no.
It seems pretty impossible for a guy to spurn a female without the sh*t hitting the fan.
The moment a female starts showing any interest in you that you have no intention of reciprocating, you better have your escape route planned.
I agree there needs to be some weight placed on age and the fact that he is being criminally prosecuted for something that in the scheme of terrible things one can do, is probably not so terrible. What maybe you are failing to realize, and was noted before, is that he is in a position of power and used this to have sex with someone. Should his life be over? I don't think so, but he shouldn't be around young people where he can take advantage of this.
With that said (and others have also noted) I can't tell you how many times I saw this happen while growing up (Coach hooking up with runners...HS and College). In some cases people knew what was going on around the situation. Some of these situations were with big time athletes. In any case, sad story all the way around.
Magic flute in A flat minor
Probably being reported more often than in the past. I slept with many of my teachers back then and it was not considered unusual at all. Sometimes I even did their laundry.
You realize that there are a large number of individuals on the sex offender lists charged with aggravated sexual battery for having sex with a 16 yo when they were 18!
Felony charge. You have to report it when applying to school-rejected, applying for a job- don't get it. I have a family member who is a lawyer. 20 yrs later you can't go to your kids school to watch sports events and it gets better all your kids friends parents have the app on their iPhone that lists the sexual predators. Oh, one more thing, the state police roll up every 6 months to check that your living where you say you are living.
So all the guys on here who are crying about 16 vs 18 you need to understand the law. You can bet that my son will understand the law so he keeps his d*ck in his pants and doesn't ruin his life.
You can know the law all you want but there's a point for adolescents where hormones take over. Your son will probably plow the first 14 year old chick that lets him finger her puss.
I wonder if Bo's pictures will be removed from future editions of Coe and Martin's book?
Bottom line is that this should be a professional issue, not a criminal one.
