LV worked him. Better swim, better bike, better run. Webb was lucky to gain back a few seconds on the second transition.
They were on the same team first off so LV wasn't exactly trying to "work" him. And secondly for Webb's first Tri i think he did pretty well. I think most people expected LV to beat him
Damn, his team didnt have a chance!
WEBB IS BACK BABY
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not a bad showing at all. His transitions were competitive against much more experienced triathletes. He had a mishap on his bike going into T2 and lost some time on the bike. His swim and run were quite quick when compared against the group. Not sure if he had a pack on the bike to draft off of, but that's clearly a weakness, and that's also no secret.
He was beat by some of the women and a boy who recently snapped his spine in half.

Not bad. Not in the class of Canadian athletes .
The top team had their guy run 5:37, which was 13 seconds better than Webb. But this 5:37 guy is only a 1420-1430 5k guy at best. It's not like Webb is going to dominate the running portion. The top triathletes will have their way with Webb on the run.

lol
Looks like it was a 4 leg relay. Webb was 17th fastest on his leg out of 19 teams. Can't tell where he ranked on just the leg 2 run.
It was a mixed relay. Webb and Lukas were on the same relay team.
But did he look relaxed?
Who?
For a real comparison, the winner of the elite race (Andrew Yorke) completed the relay leg in 19:55

Alan's got some work to do. Can't imagine he was going as hard as he could though in the run (maybe all of it was just a rust-buster). Unless he was just super gassed from the bike, the fall, and the swim and had basically given up by the run leg. I know he's not in elite running shape, but he can bust a 14:00 5K and a 4:06 mile, and I doubt many triathletes can hit those times.

To be a serious medal contender in the triathlon, you need to be prepared to drop a 14:30 or a 30:00 after coming off of the bike with the lead pack.
The swim is impressive
