Ummm...And on a 400m track (Rudisha).

And what she did was interesting, she tore out at a fast pace the first 200m, then pulled it back to 29 and then 31-31, so where the rest of the field thought she was toast, she had actually been resting and had enough to pull away from them when they reached her. maybe that training that brought her mile time down helped her get the strength to hold on.

Good analysis.

I found it interesting that Price's race today had identical splits to Hinriksdottir's PR race, until Price is quicker by about 1.0 on the last 200. That mile strength shows.

Do you know who her coach/group is and what their system is like?

I agree. How crazy is that, she can't get sponsored, something is seriously wrong with these shoe companies focus and priorities.

Also, I liked her interview, she went out hard and wanted it to be a race where the strongest wins. We are all tired of these races where the field jogs the first 75% of the race distance and then everyone is still in the race and we see who is the fastest over the last 25% of the race, and then the winning times are slow and a joke.

Naw. She raced my coach in high school and I saw her run.

When she was a freshman she destroyed the field. She's been good since high school. And she didn't have a massive PR or anything. She's dropped 2 seconds in 5 years. Just ran well at the right time.

What's not to like about Chanelle Price? The Flotrack interview is really good. She gets into how tense she was in college, but now she's decided just to use running as her sanctuary. Training and running without a sponsor. Also expresses a low opinion of "sit and kick" racing, which should endear her to LRC folks.

A great race. It will be great to see her go out fast with AM. They could push championship races together.

As someone who ran in PA district XI when she did and watched her develop from a great local talent to world class throughout high school, I am so proud of how Chanelle is representing the Stars and Stripes.

Hell of a race from start to finish! Couldn't ask for this to happen to a nicer person. Here's to Ms. Price becoming the next U.S superstar!

Her splits don't reflect the subtle shifts of pace and lane position she made. Clearly she is running very intuitively and masterfully in that final, and very relieved I'm sure to not have Ajee there to nip her at the line.

She's got to be the first World Champion in about 40 years without breaking 2:00 first (though she's clearly in about 1:58 shape)
