Canada's confederation did not take place until 1867, so we cannot take responsibility for kicking America's ass in 1812, even though many of us like to think we did.

Yea but then we can't say ... "If so-and-so gets elected I am moving to Canada"
If Rob Ford gets reelected, would they still want to come?

He provides great entertainment, who wouldn't want him?
"If there land was worth anything at all, we'd have already seized it and sent them back to England."
If I recall correctly you did try, and you lost... And we burnt down the white house...
I don't doubt 'Mericas ability to over power Canada in a one on one war, but the rest of the world would be on Canada's side, so...
Looks like you might not have to invade Canada after all - secede from Obamaville and build your own nation!
GREELEY, Colo. -- If you mention the word "secession" most people think of the South during the Civil War. But today, a new movement is gaining steam because of frustration over a growing, out-of-control federal government.
A number of conservative, rural Americans are taking about seceding and creating their own states, meaning a new map of the United States of America could include the following:
A 51st state called Jefferson, made up of Northern California and Southern Oregon
A new state called Western Maryland
A new state called North Colorado
These are real movements gaining traction with voters across the country.
Jeffrey Hare runs the 51st State Initiative in Colorado, an effort to fight an out-of-control legislature trying to ram big government policies down the throats of voters.
"We're at this point of irreconcilable differences," Hare told CBN News.
Secessionist talk has filled town hall meetings and the divide discussed is not just ideological.
"It's predominately left versus right, but it's urban versus rural because you typically find more typical conservative values in rural America," Hare said.

Canada, could call on it's NATO Commonwealth allies and the EU.
The combined population of the "British" Commonwealth of Nations, including Canada, is 2.138 billion.
The combined population of the EU is 500 million.
4 of the above countries, India, Pakistan, UK and France are nuclear powers.
The US wouldn't stand a chance.
And be overrun by a bunch of out-of-control Justin Biebers?
And have a drunk Rob Ford show up at American restaurants speaking in a Jamaican accent?
No thanks!
Think of the children!
Now that producing oil and gas and shale.
As long as Pentagon sweeps up every Canadian and fries them in non-transfat oil, ground up for cattle feed then an invasion is fine with me. But don't let any of Canadians get away from the fryer.

The US already annexed Palestine then renamed it Israel.
Annexing Canada, we shale oil, free open nuclear and coal ash waste dumps.
Discuss.
It should be the other way around.
Canada should annex us, and teach us to be more civil.

agreed in some ways, but not all.
America is the huge lion. People world wide envy, hate, and respect us. They talk about us being "omnipotent" and say "..you Americans think you own everything.."
That is because ignorant Americans, like us, grow up watching television, not reading books. We see movies that depict Americans as the heroes, the good guys, and we believe this, because we want to believe we are the country of good guys.
But, what if we are not always good?
Do you think our soldiers didn't kill or rape anyone, ever?
Do you think these horrible people we hear about on the news that hurt little children and kill people in our country, were not around Europe during WWI, and WWII ?
Do you think Vietnam citizens have a high regard for American soldiers?
How about Laos?
I'm proud to be an American, but I'm not naïve.
God bless you. god bless our soldiers. God bless every person representing this country in sports and war. And, God bless America.
Thank you,
Good night

Given that the US lost the last time Canada was invaded - probably not a wise thing to do. 1/10th the population, but a better fighting army than the US can produce these days. Canadians would fight to the last man, and could live in igloos and the north for as long as necessary to hold out - they would never surrender.
I live in Canada and this is what we should do (IMO). Sucker the US into an attack (and put up a token resistance) then do what Germany and Japan did in WW2 and surrender! Then get a HUGE SETTLEMENT! Demand a zillion dollars and the movie and high tech industry. OK America, attack!

you want a piece of this
but they own so many guns. Isn't personal gun ownership supposed to be necessary and sufficient to fight off the federal government?
We would then be called the US of Eh?
Haha!

You recall bull-honkey. You paid Tecumseh to cause trouble and we chased him across the border when your own army was too chicken to back him up. Anyhow that was England, not canada. Guess who has a big navy now.
Our first chance to take your territory was when some of us were saying 54-40 or fight. But nobody in their right mind would want B.C., so we settled for taking Oregon and Washington from England.
Canadian land is so bad that after fleeing there from persecution in the United States, Sitting Bull led his band back to the Dakotas to be persecuted again.
Sitting Bull went back because even our Canadian Indians are tougher.
