Runners get injured all the time. Hell, I'm injured now. Rupp is the exception people. Most other runners deal with injuries.
Let's make a list of the biggest names/achievers in the sport over the last decade or so:
Webb
Ritz
Hall
Goucher
Lagat
Rupp
Solinsky
Teg
Meb
Wheating
Centro
Manzano
Symmonds
Rupp, Lagat, and Symmonds are known for being healthy. The others have all had their share of setbacks. Some so bad it ended their careers. That's like 10 out of 13 who have had major injuries.
except that she isn't injured. did you even bother to read that the mri came back clean? tears/strains/pulls/etc all show up on an mri. why do you feel the need to comment when you clearly have no idea what is going on?
ok Ron, to defend the honor of MC, I will now post a few 'injured but negative MRI' stories.
1. New Orleans Saints running back Mike Bell, who sprained his right knee in the fourth quarter Sunday against Philadelphia, said Monday that an MRI showed no structural damage.
The injury is a sprained medial collatoral ligament, Coach Sean Payton said.
Bell said he has full range of motion and hopes to play Sunday against Buffalo, but the decision is up to the team.
2. Two months after the injury I got a follow up MRI that showed that the inflammation was gone and that the "bone bruise" was healed. The doctor said it was normal to have pain even after the MRI showed nothing. Therefore I have begun to step up the intensity of my workouts. However, as I increase the intensity I am starting to notice the familiar discomfort. It hasn't reached the levels of before, but I fear I am heading down that road
3. e Colts got some very good injury news today as top cornerback Vontae Davis's MRI came back negative and he is day-to-day, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Davis suffered a groin injury during Sunday's win over the Jaguars and did not return.
4. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Tom Brady walked off the field under his own power. Several teammates didn’t think he was hurt badly when he grabbed his left knee after being knocked down.
Yet the possibility that the New England Patriots might lose their star quarterback caused a scare at the team’s joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.
A person with knowledge of the injury said an MRI was negative and Brady was day-to-day with a left knee sprain. Asked if Brady might play Friday night in an exhibition game against the Buccaneers, the person said he didn’t know.

I could keep going. Am I missing something here? 30 seconds of googling finds many athletes in pain but with negative MRIs.
Are we defining 'injury' differently, ron?
