Unreal how bad this show is. Ratings must be close to zero by now.

Obviously you don't like the storytelling aspect of it. All you probably want to see is action action action like all of America today with no real, human moments.
The Walking dead is a GREAT show.
Wrong, I've seen every episode and I've had a first row seat for the entire disaster. I'm not in it for action. There is too much action. What's wrong with it? Absurd reasoning, unrealistic group dynamics, pathetic amount of proper planning, laughable fighting, total dismissal of necessary details, etc.

You've watched every episode of a show you don't like?
Yes, I watch it with a few friends during dinner. There aren't that many episodes, it's not a huge time commitment. Also, it makes me laugh, LOL. Every single conversation is so packed full of cringe and awkward hilarity that I don't know how these actors show themselves in public off set.

I couldn't get through the first episode

Valid points but it's still engrossing.
Why did they wait 3 years to shore up the defenses at the prison?
Why were there no armored security vans at the prison?
Why did Beth just throw a rock 3 feet but the zombies heard it about 200 feet away?

Well I will not argue its merits as those are highly subjective, but tell me what shows you like and think are great right now or in the recent past.
Yeah, those ratings are terrible?
http://www.deadline.com/2014/02/walking-dead-tv-ratings-beat-olympics-closing-ceremony-amc-nbc/That is a fact. AMC seems to be quite pleased with it. (I also bet a lot of folks watch it via other platforms).

You watched over 35 episodes, each more than 40 minutes long, "during dinner"?
It's terrible. I wish they'd cancel it so I could stop watching.
Then don't watch it. That's easy enough. I've never watched a single episode so I can't and won't comment on it's value. I don't watch most of what's trendy on TV. If you don't like something, there are 200 other channels filled with crap for you to choose from.
What, exactly, was the point of this post?

Yeah? What are you confused about? The show has been on TV for a while now. It's not like I watched every episode in a two-week span. I'm guessing you spend 1 hour+ running daily, and don't even think about it. I can watch TV during dinner. As I stated previously, it's not really a big time commitment.

I watched the first 4 episodes of season 1 over the weekend and I gotta say the show sucks for exactly the reasons the OP stated.
I watched the first episode and I can't take the gross makeup that comes along with the concept of the dead coming back to life. I did however read the first two compendiums/graphic novels before I would go to sleep at night. My left forearm was sore for months holding those 10 lb books while reading in bed. I thoght the story was much better from the book.
Even though this smells of a troll post, I'll reply.
This is one of the better shows of the last decade in terms of story and character development. The fact that it involves zombies doesn't make it a bad show. It's about zombies as much as Fight Club is about fighting. Secondary to the overall story (for WD obviously, not FC) of the chaos, etc after the end of the world.
Clearly you must be joking about the ratings as its one of the top rated shows on TV.
Troll post because someone has a different opinion than yours? Relax dude.
Oh, and the character development is VERY shallow. Think as wide as an ocean, deep as a pond with this show. Lots of drama, all repetitive and predictable.
If you wear work gloves, hiking boots, 2 pairs of jeans, and a work jacket, with a motorcycle helmet and hockey neck guard, you cannot be bitten anywhere and you're utterly invincible to these weak zombies. Go try biting someone through thick jeans, go ahead, try!
Rather read the books wrote:

you're the first person to ever say the book was better
