As much as I want to believe another (former) oregon duck, the mods are acting shaky about this thread, and Former Duck is saying some pretty convincing things

I don't know why you are rating this a 1/10. Hopefully not out of some misbegotten hope this rumor was true.
Former Duck's story has several inconsistencies, and points to his "absence" from practice the last week, during a specified time when he was taking a break before the build-up to outdoors.
I give this rumor about 0% of being true, if that.
How many of you gibbon-armed turkey-lipped squid-humpers are staying up WAY past your bedtime for this?
another (former) oregon duck must be Alberto himself on a one-man damage control mission versus all of Letsrun!
Almost 24 hours since this thread was started, not a single link to a tweet, a Facebook post, anything outside this thread? Really .. LRC, delete it until you have something. Anything. This is ridiculous.
My thought is of any current us track athlete I would put him least likely to dope. He wins races not by super human times but amazing tactics , positioning etc.
Not like he has run any times that one goes omg he is doping. He just knows how to race.
I also don't buy any of the Nike groups would dope, the costs are just too high with how it would reflect on Nike and the other athletes...

Yeah... that would be me... but I'm going to bed now

You're actually hilarious.
Do you even have any idea how frustrating it is to hear about these rumors being spread on this message board and find people actively hoping that someone tested positive for PEDs out of some sick desire to witness someone fall from a great height?
It's not true. But I guess I can't convince you myself. I'll just let the lack of a positive drug test announcement do that.

Assuming you are American...I just don't understand why you would be savoring this in any form.
I think you misunderstand my post. Drink some coffee.

Completely agree. I can never tell which is more disgusting - that the mods actively encourage slander and rumor spreading via "who you think is doping" polls, or just how excited people on here get at even the thought of bigger name athletes testing positive. It's f**king pathetic, and it makes me glad that no one takes this place seriously.
Something doesn't add up. In one "report," Centrowitz hasn't raced as of late because of this (he has DNSed everything starting with club XC). In another, the positive only came out last week. So I am going to bed believing this is fake.
When did you graduate from Oregon? I know a lot of people on the team around the same time as Centro (like I said, we overlapped by a few years) and from what I gather, it's a pretty hot topic right now. I don't know exactly how many people know, but I'm pretty sure most of us from the recent Oregon T&F era are aware of what's going on.
Haven't heard much else beyond the fact that things are "confirmed." I heard that a few of my former teammates have been trying to get in touch with Centro but haven't heard what has come of that.

You're absolutely correct that no one is taking this seriously. You and the other dude seem to be the only ones getting your panties in a bunch over this.
I don't know the exact date he tested positive, latest thing I've heard now is that it was "at least a week ago."
The results of test would not coincide with the date a sample was taken. In other words, the sample date would proceed release of the result. Also consider that an A sample would have to test positive, and then the B sample would have to be tested. This type of thing takes time to get done.

If it is fake, the brojos owe everyone a public apology for not deleting this thread.

Agreed.
I do want to say that I am just as shocked as everyone else about this and am still hoping that there might be a misunderstanding somewhere. As you can probably tell from my posts, I'm a little older than Centro... so while I did think he was a bit cocky, I think most freshman/sophomores in college who were HS stars are. I haven't kept in touch with him much (though I still talk to plenty of my other Oregon teammates) but I'd hope things have changed.
They won't be able to get in touch with Centro. It's not up to him. This is bigger than him.
This is an indictment of NOP.
It's all been too good to be true since day one. And you can forget about the adrenal bags that gave Farah his extra 'pop' for the Olympic 5k.
If Centro is positive, nothing will come of it. After Rupp and Farah, the spotlight is Centro's. He'll get off on a technicality or B-sample, a la Lagat.
