As always, you are disingenuous in addition to light witted. You can't even proof read important sentences in your claims.
re: The people you cite as complimenting your website.
--Like none of these people could have changed their minds between those quotes and today.
--Like none of those people could have issued those quotes without being readers of the message board and it's sewage.
--Like none of those people could be of a generation that steers clear of comment sections and message boards on the web regarding sports. (I've discussed this with several writers -- the only ones that read the comments section on their own newspapers etc., are the ones who are required to as part of their job description to promote the online edition of their paper etc.
As always, you dodge the issue that is most true -- while a few elites may hold grudges against Salazar/Nike (this should be no surprise -- most athletes in track and field are paid very lowly, and finding that a lot of them are pissed off about the "take this contract or not have a contract" they find themselves in, would be no surprise.
If you follow a bunch of elite athletes twitter and blogs, you'll get the impression that they all expect to make it up the ranks, to climb up the ranks and win a WC or Olympic medal some day -- and anyone who's old enough to have followed USA Track and running -- knows how unlikely that is.
How many very, very good USA runners have we seen recently look promising and NOT make it? Chris Solinsky anyone?
Much as I like him, I don't even think Will Leer will do anything (would be pumped for him if he did.)
I've oft stated that my favorite runner is Lopez Lomong. And that my main interest is in the college scene. (I've also stated that I don't post race predictions and the like, because I simply don't think that way.) I'll be surprised and delighted if Lomong ever wins a world medal. --Indoors is probably his best shot. He's inconsistent for a guy so talented.
FEW USA athletes will ever make it on the world scene, very few. Track is the longest odds sport any US Athlete could ever go after.
Odds are, you're NEVER going to make it.
As many have said, our major pro sports siphon off the majority of our talent.
Last point, Rojo seems to really enjoy smooching his and own LRC's behinds.
I challenge him to ask these same people about how they feel about the "World Famous Message Board" ???
He won't do it, because he won't like the answer.
Running journalists and most elites separate out the news front page, from the sewer that is the message boards.
Nick Symmonds already told LRC to their face "I like your site, but I have to call you out about your message board."
THAT is how most elites feel about this board.
