Agree. Jordan Hasay is truly a class act. The DQ was justifiable (even if the appeal process was not).
The athletes that are going to Worlds are indisputably the best athletes who were racing the 3k on Saturday. Let's hope we bring home at least one medal from Sopot.

I don't blame Jordan for the DQ/appeal any more than I think this resolution was at her initiative, as classy an act as that would be. She was just trying to do her best and got caught in the middle of all this. I feel bad for her, but it wasn't the bumping that cost her the race.
I keep thinking about how glad I am that a runner like Steve Ovett never had to worry about AlSal trying to get him DQ'ed for his (very) physical approach to running! That's just how the game is played at the international level.

You're wrong about that. The brojos posted two big photos, the first at the start of the straight, the second midway around the next curve, where the positions had nothing in common.
Check the video and you can see GG running right up Jordan's back. Check the stop action photos and you can see where GG clipped Jordan's back foot, and the extent that it threw her off stride. She didn't fall but she came very close, and I wouldn't be surprised if it caused an injury to her thigh.

these are the same officials who work the youth meets, master meets, etc.
they are not really volunteers. they are paid.
they accept airfare and per diem and hotel rooms, and get paid for the day...
i have put on many meets, and served as the announcer for scores of others - officials are too concerned about getting their box lunches - perhaps that's where they were when gg impeded hasay.
usatf needs to step up the professionalism of the officiating.
They are paid by USATF, but they volunteer for Nike.

Right. The brojos showed only one photo that was close to the time of contact, and they didn't show the contact.
The sequence I'm speaking of showed 5 or 6 stop action photos in a row of the moment of contact. I think everyone should see these photos before speaking of what happened.

I'm also sad that there won't be a chance to investigate how the decision to DQ GG was made after the jury ruled. Was there new evidence? What was the new evidence. Will we ever get to see if there was additional evidence and if not, will the officials who broke the rules face some kind of censure?
It wasn't "fair and square" . Have you ever had someone step on your heels n a race? Maybe gg should not have been dg'd but it certainly wasn't fair and square.

Because USATF broke the rule by allowing "No New Evidence" to overrule 2 denied appeals by Al.Read the LRC article and you will understand.
