Too bad athletes can't just settle it themselves. You know, the way it used to be. There is no shame or integrity in the behavior of those that can't earn their way with their feet. I'm guessing they also feel pretty proud of themselves and more important than everyone else for having the influence to get what they want without talking with their feet.
Now I ask how does this behavior help the sport? They already have the outdoor championship meet, the trials and corporate influence to back them over the governing body on just such occasions for the next 2 generations of athletes coming down the pipe.
Justice doesn't always occur when we want it to but eventually, it does happen. Unfortunately there are people that suffer for their selfish actions. If Hassay goes onto the world championship meet, I don't see any improvement on her performance from today. The only thing they gain is an unearned spot on the team and a quick exit from the meet when she under-performs again. She's just being set up for failure by a greedy coach who appears to care more about his own reputation than her development.
