I wouldn't call 1:48.12 crushing it, but nice to see he won his heat.

He looked really good though, and really did crush everyone on the last lap. He was the fastest of all prelim runners too. Strategically sound race with a good burst of sustained speed in the final 200. It was pretty impressive. Loxsom ran foolishly.
If Symmonds is actually sick like he mentioned, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Andrews win tomorrow.
it would be a huge surprise to see andrews win tomorrow. he got the easiest heat by far, only had to beat loxsom who didnt do well
symmonds isn't even the favorite
erik sowinski has USAs on lock.

Sowinski could do it too. The fact that Andrews had the easiest heat to win doesn't mean much when he dominated it though, and ran the fastest time of the day. Although Sowinski did as well.
Symmonds, as a 7-time national champion and 1:42 runner, should be the championship favorite until further notice, though.

not this season. he even got beat in the 1000m, which should've been his best event of the year.
he's just not looking good yet. i don't know how much indoor experience he has, plus he's probably been much busier lately with his sponsor switch, changing coaches, moving, etc.

Huh? He has run twice, once where he barely got beat in the 1000 by the dude you are claiming is a lock, second in the 4x800 when he was out of contention before he got the baton.
He knows how to peak. There's always somebody that people think is going to beat Symmonds. Solomon. Wheating.
Rarely happens.
