Without any real complex science it's easy for anyone with half a brain to see why steroids would have more of a profound impact on women than men.
The women were effectively being turned into men by taking them. The men that took them were only being turned into slightly more 'manly' men.
It's a simple way of looking at it, but surely anyone can see that women would 'benefit' more from taking a substance like testosterone.
