Exactly. Cain has vicious 400 speed (52-53 range) so no one is going to touch her in the last 400.
How do you know Cain is that fast? Source?

Well documented by NOP. I'm from Portland so I have first hand sources over there.

Thanks for the videos.
Coburn went out in last place the first quarter and has nothing to complain about.

Documented where? Show us proof. Hearsay is not proof.

In an interview Al Sal said that she could run 53 sec 400M...(I think he was basing this on her training times)
Yeah, I was also surprised by Coburn's comments... she was frustrated by the other runners for not doing the same thing she didn't want to do which was to go with the rabbit. With as many elite races as she has run she should know that the only thing she can totally control in a race is herself.
well regardless of cains intention, she killed alexas chance at going for a legitimate race for cains record. am i the only thinking this?????

You must be new here.
We see this all the time with the rabbits. Most of the time they gap the pack in the women's 1500 (except when there are Africans in the field). As for Cain, she pretty much admitted she's still learning how to run from the front. I think Emma's frustration stems more from the fact that she barely edged out Ephraimson by .14 sec.

They all feared Mary Cain, just like all the African runners feared Mo in the Olympics.
I think that Coburn had a point that people asked for a rabbit to run a certain pace, but whoever asked for the rabbit didn't go with the rabbit. It sounds like Coburn wasn't one asking for a rabbit, but she expected whoever asked for a rabbit to follow the rabbit. So she expected a fast pace, otherwise there wouldn't be a rabbit.
If Emma wanted to go with the rabbit, why didn't SHE go? She's certainly good enough that if she went, the others, including Cain, would have to hang with her. The rabbit eventually slowed down because nobody went with her.
Regarding the 52-53, Cain may be faster than any other woman in the last 100 of a 1500, but sub-53 is world class for a sprinter, in sprint spikes, running out of blocks. Alysia Montano has that kind of speed for personal bests in races. And Cain is going to do this in workouts? More Oregon bullshit.
The other people on the track are competing AGAINST you. Their goal is to make sure that the race doesn't play out in a way that benefits you. I'll never understand why so many runners get miffed when people who are trying to beat them aren't overly helpful. No one other than Emma Coburn stepped on the track thinking "I'd really like to make sure that this race plays out the way that Emma Coburn wants it to."
It's a competition. The other girls aren't there to help you.

The rabbit doesn't pick the time, somebody else does.
I think the point is that Emma didn't ask for a fast time from the rabbit, somebody else did, but whoever that person was then didn't go with the rabbit.
It seems like bad form to me to ask the rabbit to go out hard and then not follow. You just caused the meet to waste whatever it paid the rabbit because the rabbit is showing up, running, and getting paid for no benefit to the other runners.

Cain is Dictating the Race.
The older women are scared.
The new young gun,Alexas, could have made a HUGE statement if she had went with the rabbit. Oh Well.
Mary Cain Mary Cain Mary Cain.
I think if that was me, and I was a steepler knowing that I had Cain in the race, and maybe I would be able to hold a fast pace longer but I couldn't kick with Cain, and I saw the rabbit getting out there by herself, I would have said to myself, "Hey, this is an opportunity!"
She should have closed that gap before it got too big, then drafted behind the rabbit and hoped Cain didn't want to follow.
That b*tch Coburn is hot, and only gets more hot when she's frustrated

Which probably would have been a good strategy for her. Coburn doesn't really have that much experience running in a competitive mile/1500 anyway. She's had a career of running the steeple and being better than the other Americans in the steeple so mostly being out in front time-trialing. I doubt she's comfortable running in a big pack, especially on a 200m track.

It is Alsay, not hearsay. He would never fib, because he is a good catholic boy. If he says that she can run sub-50, then she can. Who are you to say he is not telling the truth? 52-53 is quite reasonable - didn't Mary Decker also run about the same, and she (MC) is her reincarnation (without the dying yet) for AlSal. Off that she will run sub-1.53, sub-3.50 and sub-14.00 by the time she is 20. It is a given, this is why he was spared by god - to lift up American running fortunes again.
