No one argues that Rupp is the world's best runner. He has barely broken13:00 and runs 6th to 10th in world champs 5000. He ran 26:48, well outside the world record, but makes him capable of medaling in a 10000 on a good day. He beat both Bekeles, Tadesse and all the Kenyans in that final.Lots of guys drop out of races. Rupp has toughed out lots of races. He races better and more often than most US elites. Give it a rest.

Rupp does it and its a crisis. For Rupp it is a crisis because it proves he doesn't have the mentality to tough it out. True champions tough it out. True champions become real winners. Sadly, Rupp simply doesn't have what it takes. It is time to look towards the future, and hope a top runner comes along who can handle the pressure, and who can finish all their races regardless of how poorly they think they are doing in those races.
