BMI 18.0
Whatever. To win a competition for money, that's acceptable.
As a normal BMI for someone who isn't an elite distance athlete, it's whack, but that's not the situation here.
I want to know when the porno comes out.

Why is it, that when someone is supposedly too thin it is allowed to be a national discussion, but if a fat persons weight is pointed out it is considered cruel?
I'd pork her a few times before she starts packing the pounds back on. 250k can buy a lot of ice cream and cookies.

Have you ever wondered why women that thin lose their period? It's because nature is telling them you aren't healthy enough to have a baby.
Thanks bro, exactly my line of thinking. That said, study after study has shown that women who lift heavy weights and sprint every once in a while are healthier than either fat/fat or skinny fat (think: typical runners body frame). So yep, athletic woman with hot curves, this is how it is supposed to be.

Double This
Need to see her in a two-piece bikini to determine if the weight loss led to anything worth while.
she looks good.
can't argue that.
whats going on here, is the world is jealous of what is possible.
she has every fatty in america going "thats not possible"
well guess what! it is possible, so get off your a$$ and do something about it.

Most likely not. They were all layered up in spanx during the season finale, otherwise you'd see all that lose skin hanging down. Not a pretty sight.

Your use of skinny fat is beyond stupid. Skinny fat is someone who either does no physical activity but has a great metabolism and stays "thin" or the typical girl/guy who goes to the gym, does the elliptical/runs every once in a while and manages to gut through a half marathon in just over 2 hours and considers it a lifetime achievement.

The precise problem with this show is the exact opposite of what you're suggesting. It cheats the viewers into thinking these sorts of transformations are possible in a healthy way. Then when people try healthy diets, exercise, and lifestyle changes, when they only lose 1-2 pounds per week they wonder what they are doing wrong, when in fact they are doing everything right.
There's only one way to achieve weight loss this dramatic and that's to work up a HUGE caloric deficit, an inherently unhealthy one. I certainly hope no viewers are trying to replicate this. They will end up very sick.

When you weigh 300 lbs, losing weight is healthy, no matter how fast. Any day longer at 300 lbs could be life threatening.
The way nature intended us to live is to store excess calories as fat for times when food is not available. You could put these guys on a 0 calorie diet for a couple of months and they would survive (while I wouldn't).
The only problem with the fast fat lost is lose skin, but lets be honest, when you're going down from 300 to 150 or so, there is no way to prevent that.
The morale of the story: don't let yourself go.
WE WOULD NOT BE HERE TALKING ABOUT THIS IF SHE HADN'T BECOME A FAT F IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I can't stand it when people put themselves into a bad situation, and then others proclaim them as a hero for getting out of it.
Yes, we all do stupid things. Yes, she is/was young--but still. We shouldn't be celebrating her, we should simply be acknowledging her return to the better state she took herself out of.
Screw the Biggest Loser, I would rather watch a competition in which the contestants try to better themselves for the purpose of bettering others, or historical performances, in specific activities that are engaging and challenging for a person of normal healthy capabilities.
The activity of "losing weight" is only engaging and challenging for someone who is overweight, and has no relevance or meaning to those of us who are normally healthy. You can take all the surrounding emotional b.s., "life lessons", personal story, etc. that are revealed on the Biggest Loser, and find them all in the story of any athlete.
In a finite world, where time is limited, I find it much more worth my time to work out, rather than watch the Biggest Loser. Rachel whatever? Who cares.
Is there really a study or data that shows losing weight quickly is really that unhealthy? Or is this just conventional wisdom that's not really true?
The worry is that she developed an eating disorder. I'd have to see how she is another 6-12 months from now. She WAS motivated to lose weight by a big bunch of money. She is a former competitive swimmer, so she's got a competitiveness about her. I bet long term it is a non-issue. She did what she did to lose the weight so that she could win the cash. There's probably a bigger chance that she will get fat again than she will stay so super thin.
She looks fantastic! Definitely a case of fat people hating on thin, fit people. Probably the ideal weight for her to keep her looking great and healthy would be maybe 5 lbs more, but $250k was on the line. If she continues to lose any more weight THEN there is a problem, I see no problem now other than fatties hating on a former fatty who looks great now.

Agree, and also with others up-thread about this being an extreme contest and the inability of the majority to maintain the loss-- or even a healthy weight-- when back in the real world, amid an obesogenic US culture.
As part of the setup, NBC apparently pays for contestants to be gluttonous, to provide good-and-shameful "before" video and top off weight so early-episode losses are big. Here's a note from the Minneapolis paper gossip columnist related to previous BL contestants:
http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/65358287.htmlPoor young woman will now and forever be judged by her weight and figure the day she won. Imagine her in a grocery store/section and having others scrutinizing everything she puts into her cart.
being too skinny (barring eating disorders) may not be the healthiest thing in the world but its healthier than being morbidly obese, not to mention the fact that she still looks pretty good.
Besides, theres a difference between full-blown anorexia and cutting down on calories. Our fat nation is so used to ridiculous restaurant portion sizes and gorging ourselves on fast food that we forget how much other developed countries eat in comparison. You don't need 3000 calories a day to be healthy unless you are a physically active 18 year old male.
You can even eat somewhat less than that amount and still be fine.
See:
http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/estimated-calorie-requirement
Not to mention this was for 250k. Offer me 250k to lose some weight and I would be also be a twig in a couple of months.
Just more fatties attempting to justify their own laziness/complacency with the fact that they are walking whales.
The most critical people of women with eating disorders is........WOMEN WITH EATING DISORDERS. If you are critical of this woman you probably have issues with eating. Things like staying away from gluten or you order your salad without salad dressing or you hate red meat. Leave this woman alone and look at YOU. You are the problem.
This is lets run why hasn't everyone been screaming PEDs
