which is awesome for a triathlete
3:45 with a shaved head
4:03 with hair
3:54 what it could have been in his head
3:59.71
He runs 3:55.10 for an indoor mile PR.
4:05 with a salute to the crowd at the finish.
Webb hangs with the leaders for the first 600 meters or so, and then gets dropped. In the home stretch of the penultimate lap, Webb inexplicably starts sprinting to the finish. He crosses the line with this hands in the air in a tick under 3:30, and the crowd--after a moment of confusion--starts going wild. Webb looks in the camera and screams.
Webb then circles around and and starts running the wrong way on the home stretch, clotheslining all the other competitors attempting to finish the full mile. As all the other runners lay semi-conscious in the homestretch, Webb turns back around and runs his final lap, finishing as the first (and only) finisher in 5:34. The crowd cheers even louder.
Webb is arrested and charged with several counts of felony assault. The subsequent criminal trial in New York is covered daily on LetsRun. The BroJos provide incoherent analysis of the various legal rulings during the trial. Alberto Salazar testifies in support of Webb's diminished capacity defense.
Webb is ultimately acquitted. After winning gold in the Triathlon in 2016, he becomes a media darling and starts the "HairStrong" foundation for young men who are victimized by early male pattern baldness.
I am confident that at least 80% of the above will happen.
The time will be 4:02-06 I'm sure, but this one is all about emotion. Hoping Alan has a speech planned and that it's captured on good quality video.
Webb FTW @ 3:5x.xx

none of that will happen...
ok but one serious question i have... has flotrack ever covered one of alan webbs workouts? like for a W.W or Driven segment? I would love to see some of his training workouts leading up to this wannamaker mile and how he handles himself in workouts. Is the barn empty or he's just a headcase who can't bring it on race day?
I think i would shell out the 20 for the flotrack pro to see this. Yes, he's washed up but he's an american legend and non of his training has been seen ( as far as i know ) on flotrack or any website. I think he can go sub 4 but he has little grit to push to beat someone its like if he's ahead of them cool, if they're 2-3 meters ahead of him he's not gonna go after them.
the 2007 webb that would blast the last 50m so fast u would think the video glitched thats the webb i'll always remember.
Solid work right here.

Why not? He breaks 4 every year, doesn't he?

I don't think he broke 4 (or 1500m equivalent) in 2013. He tried to get the 3:41 qualifying standard for nationals and couldn't do it.
His last effort to qualify was a 3:42.88 for tenth place in a well-paced race where the winner ran 3:38. That was in July in Indianapolis.
Is this the actual Trollie McSockpuppet? Are you back for real?
