He should rejoin Raczko and keep running.
Anybody got pics of AW's top 10 rugs as well?

I think it's something to remember and think back with amazement like, "How did he do that so recently? Rupp is a world beater and he's out of the sport." But one of his top 10 accomplishments?
I agree
super power- butt kissery
top of list has got to be ,
when they brought the test in for MICERA from
summer 2008 and couldnt use it anymore .
just like wariner and bekele .
wake up , nobody finishes his mile record
like he did and not aided .
but still love him ,
he is the everyman!
As good as Rupp is, I believe that Webb has more wins in high profile international races.[/quote]
He didn't do as well in the highest profile ones
He had the talent but no bottle
I miss the threads about 5 guys and that one article describing webbs day of lifting running and eating
Watching the '04 Trials race, one is reminded how incredibly far U.S. distance running has come in 10 years. Webb ran 3:36 and absolutely destroyed the field. And if memory serves, Webb didn't even get out of the first round in Athens.

Where could he have finished in a weak year like 2012, with the three Kenyans all out of shape? Both had similar intermediate splits, 2007 actually had a faster kick, so even if you assume Makhloufi is in the same shape as 2007 Lagat, Webb finishes 0.88 seconds back for bronze. In reality Webb's shape was probably similar to Makloufi, but worse than Lagat and the EPO-induced Ramzi in '07.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than to be good...

I think Webb was in better 1500 shape than lagat in 2007
he ran world leading times at 1500m/mile and was 2nd fastest at 800 that year. beat lagat at us champs and paris. he got beat by many more people in the final than just lagat and ramzi. he just didn't have it that day. looked tired in the semi-final as well.

5. Biggest professional blowout - 2004 Olympic Trials:

(Followed a Michael Stember taunting incident in prelims, and was the blueprint for his embarrassing 2005 WC Finals race, below.)
6. Best WC/OC finish of his career - 2005 WC Finals:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abxUL7zz1nI
(We all expected so much more, but tactics aside, he was unlikely to medal here. He only had about 10 weeks over his career when he could legitimately contend with the world's best, and this wasn't one of them.)
Webb's career took a serious decline after his 3:38 at USATF 2001. Michigan he ran poorly, 2003 his first season as a pro was terrible. Webbs professional jump starter was his dominating win at Home Depot meet in 2004 in 335. Definately needs mentioning
and when i say poorly at michigan, i mean track only. Great xc season
could be many reasons, still very young .
but from Early 2000's epo use became alot more risky,
and 2002-2003 when micera made its way into select few
athletes hands ,wariner ,bekele ,haileselaisse.
all their timelines watch up .
obviously Webb was elite and from very young age
but would he of ever ran much faster than 3.55 for mile
like so many americans that appear then burn out just
as fast .
believe me when say MICERA WAS AMAZING STUFF.
THE best type of epo .
no way without it , would of ramzi won olympics
and worlds ,doubt with even unrestricted 1st generation
epo use would he of done it .
and the only major player that didnt see test coming
for olympics 2008.
question why no retrospective testing for MICERA OR
CERA whatever like to call.
as ramzi would of easily been on it in 2005 ,problem
some other big names also.
If Webb was using CERA he was about the worst doper in the history of sport. He was injured constantly and ran meaningfully faster than his HS PR only a handful of times in a decade.

Both red herrings. In Paris, that was the only fast, well-paced race of the year. Look at the guys he beat that day. Mehdi Baala finished right behind him, but he didn't even make the WC final. Lagat was clearly off his game.
Look at the guys who beat him at WC's, almost all of them had faster PRs, just not that season. Either before or after WCs, can't remember which, he raced them all in a Golden League meet again and finished roughly the same order. Except the race was slow, only 3:38. So he was really lucky to have the world leading time that year with so many great runners.
i have to say i got a monster laugh out of the first comment on this youtube page:
