She ran like a 4:11 equivalent and we are celebrating that? Didn't she run a 4:14 in high school? That was like 6 years ago. 3 seconds in 6 years is laughable Improvement. Imagine a prep 4:0:2 miler who improved to 3:59 in 6 years. We would say he was a flop. But since Hasay is everyone's darling and has the heart of a lion we go crazy over anything she does no matter how pedestrian it is. We need to treat her like every one else. The Emperess has no clothes.

411 isnt even close to 4:28 equivalent.

Nice. Omit the fact that she focuses on the 10k now, not to mention that's a ludicrous conversion.

4:11? math fail
In addition to having not a clue about converting the mile to 1500 meters, you have no sense of Jordan Hasay's progression. As a high schooler, she got locked into an Olympic Trials semi-final race in the 1500. Her time in that race, 4:14.50, to any knowing observer was an aberration. Her comparable high school 1500 meter times were 4:26.26 at the Pan Am Juniors in 2009 and 4:19.02 at the World Juniors. She did have a 4:42.21 high school mile. While at Oregon, she consistently lowered her times, while seldom running in "time-trial" type races. She did run a fine 1500 in 4:10.28 while at Oregon in 2010. In 2010 her best mile indoors was 4:38.29, followed by a 4:33.01 in 2011, and now her 4:28. By all logical comparisons, her mile PR has now dropped by 14 seconds from her top HS time. Her converted 1500 time has dropped by approximately 11 seconds (4:19.02 vs. 4:08 now).
This shows a pretty remarkable career of consistent improvements, and she is just now beginning to attack her ideal distances (2 mile and 5 K).
But trolling success!

I'm not surprised at all. I knew after watching last week's workout that good things are coming for her and my guess is this is only the beginning. She will progress a lot this year. Nobody believes me but hey, seeing is believing.
What was Hasay's PR in high school? Not 4:14 since it was an "aberration"? LOL - do we dismiss all aberrations? Mo's 3:28 was a bit of an aberration. Is his PR really the time that more closely aligns with his other times? Oh ok - got it!

Thanks Monte for saving me the trouble on this one.
Despite the heavy race load (which JH often asked for), Oregon did have her long-term interests in mind and that did contribute to her "gradual" progression.
My contribution to the understatement of the week club: a whole lotta this forum knows a whole lot less than it thinks it does...and I'd bet they abuse substances a whole lot more than those they accuse.
Um, I've heard of Jordan Hasay wrote:

Maybe that's more normal than people think...
Age ~22 1500 PRs:
Suzy Favor-Hamilton 4:08
Jenny Simpson 4:09
Shannon Rowbury 4:12
Christin Wurth-Thomas 4:16
Morgan Uceny 4:17
Anna Willard 4:25
Amen. Anyone who thinks Jordan is taking PED's is not affiliated nor has any connection to this sport. Didn't someone say these NOP athletes all get tested by the USATF at least once a week? That's sick! Imagine NFL, NBA, and the MLB having such stringent drug testing requirements. They would all be out of business. Double standard in our sorrowful sports world folks.
That Jordan is a real cutie pie.

And has the heart of a lion! And is like a male-equivalent 4:01 miler. Oh but we will ignore her mediocrity. When she runs pedestrian times we are reduced to lauding her post-race 62s (see Xeno's thread). Imagine celebrating AJ Acosta for running a4:03 but then laying down some 55s post-race. Let me puke.

First of all, writing that someone was focused on academics at a clown college like oregon implies that the person was a moron. Only a moron would need to focus in order to graduate from oregon. Second, Hasay's 4:28 is a good time, much better than last week's 2:08.
To say that Oregon is a clown college is an insult to all clown colleges. Oregon is like a community college. But hey! It gave us A Duck.
Maybe the good NOPe dosages are kicking in for Jordan, or maybe this race was an anomaly. Anyway, 16 seconds slower than the WR is pretty good for a high school runner, not so much for a pro.
