I hate to say it, but there is something effed up about this race.

The course HAS TO BE short, converting 2:06 athletes in 2:04.
In the last Houston Marathon Ethiopian Dadi Yami ran 2:11. In Dubai 2012 he ran 2:05...and Ayele Abshero is a good 2:06 runner, with an astonishing 2:04low debut in Dubai.
Which km is short? Wasn't the weather at last Houston awful?
2:25:01 for first lady
thats 74/71 splits
Blazing finish for the women.
2:25:01

I think Abdeimounaim is Moroccan?
either way impossible splits. under an hour for the 2nd half, the last 12 km in 31 minutes.
I suspect he is a DNF that was standing by the finish mat and got read as if he finished
Not impossible...it just happened. What would be the point in cheating to NOT break the world record?
The course is legit and certified as is the timing gear.

so the last 12 AND 195 meters was run faster by OVER 2 minutes than the world record for a 12k race.
i agree with the poster who said he probably dropped out and stepped on the finish mat either accidently or maybe not an accident. i dont know.

Remember when Paul Tergat ran 2:04:55 and he said afterward that he trained so hard and it was so hard to run that fast at Berlin, and he didn't think the WR would improve that much more? These 2:03 and 2:04 runs are becoming commonplace.
by the splits this guy tonight would have had to run 31:13 for the last 12 km AND 195 meters. here is the all time list for 12k. http://www.arrs.net/AllTime/AL_R12K.htm

Or perhaps no one has ever really tried to run a fast 12k before. Similar to how the 8k world record is around 22:00.
