I'm guessing Geneti takes it in 2:05:49 because he's the most consistent and has the fastest PR. Supposed to be pretty warm; 58 at the start and 65 at the finish, so likely no WR.

Stream sucks. Need to find an alternative one or the only marathon will be the lag.
As long as events are gonna provide official free streams, they should provide a torrent stream option. Direct streams are stone age by comparison. With torrent streams, the more people watch, the better they work. No need for monster server-side bandwidth.

Good news people, you can watch the unofficial 7th major - which takes place tonight at 10 pm ET live and for free right here on letsrun.com:
Dubai will not be a major or even an aspiring major, until they broaden their elite fields to include other nationalities. As it stands, the race is an Ethiopian time trial. Anyone have any actual info why that's the case? Who's getting paid? A race of that caliber should be able to get a G Mutai, Kipsang, Emmanuel Mutai, or Kimetto thrown into the mix from time to time. Not a single Kenyan woman this year? WTF? No Europeans or Japanese? Pick it up Dubai!
Did Said Aouita lose all his hair?
Unfortunately, it appears the whole stream is in Arabic. Also there is no running clock :(

Is that dude on the bike the lead vehicle?
Lol. I love that there's a dude on a crappy looking bike in the front.
BTW, I think Merga's going to be the dark horse here. He might not win, but I bet he'll get a nice fat PR.
Now someone is speaking english
wow phillipines has 3343 people in the race, japan has 564, kenya has 225.

Splits looks not very accurate at the moment.
stupid narrator giving km splits and not total times for a distance.
ok is there a 10k race going? announcer said that the 5k split was 13:42...not bad for a road race
Splits are supposedly not accurate
Curiosity got the best of me and I paid the 1 gbp for his calculator. 27:28 for 10k and 58:47 for half marathon yields 1:59:07 for the marathon. Hah. I think it's safe to say that 27:28 is not his maximum capacity, considering that 27:28 is 4:25 pace and 58:47 is 4:29 pace.

And, by the way, someone should plug 27:28 and 58:47 into the Ventolin calculator. That has to give a pretty ridiculous marathon capability.
