They expect 4 post collegiate teams. Who besides OTC is close to competitive. Penn State would be a good addition. Too bad the new balance guys aren't 800m runners, they could have put together a NB team. The women of NB would do very well.
Can the Boston club scene even produce a sub 7:40 team?
Don't forget Van Ingen and Russel Brown both left also.
1:45 flats puts a team at 7:00.
7:13 is harder than you think no matter what the PR's coming in. Not that they can't break the record but when you start adding PR's run late in the outdoor season.... Let's just say 7:10 would be more realistic. In addition, the further the teams are from being equally matched, the less chance there is for running at your potential wherever you might be with your current conditioning.
Two teams is not enough for an honest race. Get some colleges in there. Penn State, Georgetown has some 1:50 guys, Villanova?
Arkansas has
1:46.4
1:46.6
1:47.3
1:49.1
They're gonna go under 7:00. Calling it right now.

That would be very cool, but there is no way in hell that happens.

PICK EM UP!
I say they get the record, but barely.
I wonder what order Brooks will run it's athletes.
Thread talking about outdoor versus indoor PRs
I will say to hit 7:13 indoor your 4 leg PR total outdoors must add up to 7 flat or better.

Hey LetsRun, why do you guys always leave Jock out of your discussion for an OTC team?? I believe he's faster than Greer. He's a solid 1:44 guy with loads of upside
Whether Jock is a "solid" 1:44 guy or not, Greer has beaten him handily in the last two USATF Championship finals.
4x800 fanboys just blew their load
I believe this thread is about time trialing to beat a record. The only place I'm coming from is that Jock has a faster PR than Greer and hence could theoretically help produce a faster time. That's all.
We can debate who's a better runner, but everyone has their own opinion. Cheers!

Fair enough. I didn't see the connection between your wondering why he wasn't mentioned on OTC Elite in the same context with saying he was faster than Greer.
Sorry. Rereading me post it did seem attacking. I didn't realize that Letsrun only included 3 guys on their list for an OTC 4x800 team. How about Jock and Greer run together and boom that's a solid 4 guys.
Hope someone takes this record down!
