Sherman's trash talk on the field, and his emotional comments to Erin Andrews after the game last night, don't really bother me. Being emotional and amped up during, and immediately following, a big game like is understandable. I thought it was a little over-the-top for my taste, but no big deal.
Where Sherman really showed his ass, in my opinion, was during that infamous debate with Skip Bayless. During that interview he was relatively calm and collected, and yet still managed to sound like a classless fool. Don't get me wrong, Skip Bayless can be insufferable at times and deserves to get put in his place occasionally. But the way Sherman did it was pitiful.
Bayless basically said that he believed Darrell Revis was the NFL's best CB, not Sherman. Sherman took great offense, of course, and proceeded to make personal attacks on Bayless rather than address the actual topic. After continually evading Skip's questions he would say things like "the numbers speak for themselves". And Bayless pointed out, rightly so, that Sherman is not letting the numbers speak for themselves. If Sherman had simply disagreed with Bayless, and explained why he felt he was the league's best corner, it would be have been a good debate. But he was clearly offended on a personal level that a sport's analyst would have the gall to call someone else the league's best CB, and he just turned it into a personal attack on Skip Bayless as a person. And when Skip calmly tried to bring them back on topic by insisting Sherman was getting too personal, Sherman had the nerve to say, "Oh it's not personal."
