you bet!
you bet!
I generally care about what I am wearing more than hair or shaving. For road races I have found that dressing like a "serious runner" (split shorts & ainglet) helps me get in a racing mindset and helps me get a good spot on the line as most hobbyists will defer to people who look serious about the race. For races with my team, I naturally wear team issued gear.

Did we meet when I was in high school, undergrad, or after that?
(I love 20 questions! Or you could just email me haha.)
I typically do an arm/chest workout the day before and go for "the pump", thus maximizing the BUFF aspect of my appearance.
I don't do anything different from any other day apart from wearing a singlet and shorts.

In addition to wearing cologne to races, you are known to play a game or two of hangman.

You need to take that in context with the whole post. Have you ever had the beer sh\its? Not a pleasant thing to have, and you definitely don't want to be putting anything extra, particularly diuretics, into your stomach the morning of a race after a night of drinking.

I wear deodorant as well as cologne, because I wear that normally for work/school, and I prefer to keep everything as normal as possible on race day.
Huh, I've never noticed you wearing cologne. What's your preferred scent? When I had really long hair, I would wear Lacoste Red to parties to offset any negative thoughts a girl might have about the Sideshow Bob look. It didn't actually work as well as just, you know, getting a haircut.
I don't shave or shower before. It is game day. I think hard about weather and about what to wear after, while I wait for my medal and try to stay warm. I usually wear an Oregon hoodie which is legit because I grew up in Eugene.

Then must also know about my affinity for vanilla yogurt. Nice clue, you sneaky ash-o-le :) It took me a minute to get it, I almost replied that you must be wrong, but then it clicked haha.

I wear whatever I'm given. You'd have to ask your cousin.

Man, I have never thought about looking good while racing ever. I'm so far away from thinking that way that I never would have considered that anyone who was serious about racing would ever give a crap.
Flagpole, this is your most intelligent post ever. You know that it would take divine intervention to make you look good.

1st sentence - Nah...it's good and true, but it's far my my most intelligent over.
2nd sentence - This was a predicted and not really original response. Not really all that funny either, and of course not true at all; I could look good with divine intervention!
As a great man once said, "There is a difference between looking fast and running fast and today i am neither."

Let me guess, you run 18:00 for the 5k,and #loveyourteam. SO predictable. My suggestion, spend that time you would braiding your hair, foam rolling before the race.
Dumped by a D3 girl huh? The bitterness will not help -- look to D2. Lower standards
yes, and during a race if I spot a photographer even when I'm hanging on I wipe my nose, try to correct my form, and smile as I go by. " Better to look good than to feel good."

Wow, I bet that looks retarded.
I look good no matter what I do.

I bet you do
I'll always make sure I'm wearing my runner swag like half zips and stuff like that before the race, and I'll also make sure my hair is going to stay in place, I normally don't use gel, because I have semi longish hair. Or I'll mKe sure my lips aren't awfully chapped or something either.
during xc season i don't shave my face from the beginning of training camp till after nationals, have been doing it since grade 9.
I cant brush my teeth before a race, I don't shower, and I wear an old hat.
then its usually team gear of some sort, or jorts.
