That's so bad. I feel sad for the guy, he's worked hard, deserves a good sponsor.
Our sport has fallen so far, it is just a shame.

Sorry I'm not going to go out a buy a shoe because Leo or Nick wear that brand.

Apparently the "suits" look at guys like Symmonds as RADIO-ACTIVE. They want someone out there promoting their brand and not getting attention for what some believe are pretty wild & outlandish reasons.
Monzano waved that Mexican flag after his Olympic race ... don't think sponsors forgot about that performance? Especially sponsors that pay big $$$ to the USATF and the USOC for the USA team ...
As one executive said: "We're not looking for loose cannons."

Source?
The shoe company itself.
Wasn't dropped. Signed with Brooks (beasts). More entrepreneurial freedom, still highly paid. He'll have masters and cas loxom to put some youth in him not to mention wizzo and scheer. I like the move.

If the shoe company is Nike then this whole thing will have been such a non-event publicity stunt. I hope this isn't the case.
This is the real story people coming from an elite athlete so no bs to this. Nike was not happy with nick for speaking out against usatf which nike runs and things of that nature. So nike dropped Nick for the reasons that he was rebelling against things that nike supports. Rowland is not allowed to coach nick because of his nike contract although nick loves Rowland. He took trips to visit other groups like the brooks beast group in Seattle. He will be joining them soon as they will head to New Mexico soon to escape the Seattle winter.

Did performances by Manzano(Oly Silver), Rutherford(Oly Gold) and Symmonds(WC Silver) all in the end screw themselves? Sure each one had in their Nike contract a large bonus if they were to medal at one of those two meets and wonder if Nike really thought there was no way in hell any of them would do it so they made that bonus really high. Then when they all came through and Nike had to pay out they each lost their appeal
It may not be loss of appeal. Rutherford was offered a contract but believed he was worth more. That is either unfair on Rutherford and ignorant by Nike, Rutherford got bad advice/no advice and over valued himself or Rutherford was greedy.
Don't always agree? You have insulted him many times, most of which you had no idea what you were talking about and completely wrong, not even wanting to actually discuss what he said/did, but basically just hating on him like a regular internet troll. Does the word "midget" jolt your memories?
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Of course nobody will care about what your opinion is when you call athletes midgets and use homophobic slurs online. Thats a given.

You had me until you said "Seattle Winter"
Didn't Leo Manzano get dropped after winning a medal in the Olympics.
Leo did not get dropped. He was offered X dollars and thought he was worth more. He chose to test the waters, like Meb did, and failed.
Nick is signing with Hoka. The latest push for this up and coming brand.
"Symmonds recently inked a deal with Cool Titles Publishing in Beverly Hills, California for a book that delves into the bullies controlling professional track and field. The book is expected to be released in 2014." -- FLO TRACK
Questions:
Would Nike's control freaks want to read the book before resigning him?
Even if Nike was allowed to read it -- and I doubt that would occur -- would the heavyweights in Beaverton be indifferent, pleased or pissed?
Bottom line: Nike does not want its dirty underwear washed in public.
Announcement at 1 pm ET today.
That's what happens when you mess with the Russians!
Brooks makes sense. Reunited w/Scherer & Wieczorek ex OTC guys. Chris Layne is his agent & he represents Katie Mackey & at least one other Brooks Beast. Saw a pic of Mackey & her husband hanging out in Austin over New Year's Eve. Get the feeling flotrack is in on this.

And you heard this from where? You're just trying to make things sound interesting by starting rumors. Provide some evidence because Nick hasn't tweeted anything about new sponsors yet.

That's because Ryan Fenton is a Brooks fanboy and he and DMack are best buddies. FloTrack of course has the inside track...since Brooks has latched themselves on with the frat boys of the Flo.
It's not a surprise, Symmonds is signing with Brooks.
Nick has signed with Brooks:
