I would dump equestian/animal events in addition to gravity sports.

No body watches the Winter O's
how did it take EIGHT YEARS for someone to point out that they couldn't have indoor track at the Winter Olympics because THEY'RE ALREADY USING ALL OF THE ARENAS FOR WINTER SPORTS???

Same reason why basketball isn't in the Winter Olympics even though its played indoors in the winter.
Also volleyball, swimming, gymnastics, fencing, weightlifting, judo, wrestling, etc.

Even though they're using arenas for winter sports they aren't using them every night of the week. Hockey teams only have a game or two a week on their home ice and could have a track meet any other time. There's plenty of reasons not to have indoor track in the Winter Olympics but that isn't one of them.

Go look up the hockey schedule for a particular arena during the Olympics. They have to start the tournament 3 days early just to fit it in. They are absolutely using them every day and night of the week.
Or do you think countries have home games at the Olympics?

Except for sprint courses, XC ski courses are much more difficult than any running course. They pack in a lot of vertical, and running on the snow would be very difficult.
Cross country would be intruiging. But so would snowshoe running. A sprint (500 m), a mid distance (2 KM), and a distance race 12KM (making it all different from standard race distances) - and yes put these on XC ski courses
I agree with the idea of adding snowshoe running. There is a world championship every year (this year being held in Argentina) so why not add it to the Olympics?
Ski Mo should be added, too ..
It's a terrible spectator sport, that's why. Why not add bowling, since people do that in winter, too? Such a bad question.

It is not conducted on ice or snow which is a requirement for the winter olympice.
That's Eurocentric and racist.
Most of the world doesn't have snow and ice in winter, but there is still winter. Rainy season usually, or just sort of cold. There should be rain and dry cold events.

As the Winter Olympics quickly approaches I have been thinking a lot about why indoor track is not part of the Winter Olympics. Track and field has always been a staple event for the summer Olympics so why not add indoor to the winter lineup? Does anyone know the answer to this?
Learn to enjoy skating and cross country skiing. Great fun.
