Maybe they decided to make the meet open to all USATF members, just as XC is.
No way. You can fit as many people as you want onto an XC course or road. The opposite is true for an indoor 6-lane track.
This really is pretty pathetic...
No standards, no qualifying windows, no nothing.

Anybody ever try to get information from any of the people above?
Either they simply will not reply to emails or calls or if you do happen to catch one of the them they are NASTY.
Email sent to Siegel. Might as well go right to the top.

Why "might as well"? Explain you're reasoning. You'd be much more likely to get a response if you emailed a lower person who is actually responsible for publishing meet information.

If you email an underling they will say 'is no my yob' and ignore the email but if you email Max the underling lip flapper who's job it is to read Max's mail and to make Max look good will say "it's not Max's job I better axe Max who to blame" and then they'll email back blaming so-und-so then we will know who to email. Then the proper person will be able to ignore the request for information.
You can look at the 2013 indoor standards which were:
47.4
1:50.2
4:01.2
8:03
13:30
Now which of you posting above are close enough to any of these so that posting 2014 standards actually matters?
That's what I thought.
Im not close to that Standard because I'm female. What is the standard for female 5k
Anybody actually trying to compete can use the previous year (2013) entry standards as a guide, which you can find here:
The female mile standard was 4:40.5, which, of course, Mary Cain would consider to be a cakewalk.
They're always lake getting this kind of thing up, but they rarely change much.

Were you a complete shithead all of your life or did that just start after your own running career turned out so unsatisfactorily?
Exactly as a figured.

They also haven't released the location of the 2016 Marathon Trials (no rush obviously) that they were supposed to announce at their annual meeting....
No, it was never in the plans to announce the site.
The USATF is the worst governing body. One only needs to see their out of date website as well as the USATF champs last year in Des Moines to realize that we should get rid of it and start over. We have the greatest track team in the world despite having no leadership. Very sad!
What's more sad is that it is much tougher to qualify for NCAA champs than USA champs!!??
...and now two more tomorrows have dawned.

Qualifying Guidelines
All qualifying performances must be made on an indoor track. No allowances are provided for marks made at altitude, or on indoor facilities of differing size, banking or other configurations.
Qualifying marks must be made in accordance with USATF Rule 149 and verifiable in one of the following:
USATF or IAAF sanctioned events which prescribe to or exceed USATF rules of competition, or
events at collegiate meets which prescribe to or exceed USATF rules of competition, or
high school meets, excepting dual and triangular meets, which prescribe to or exceed NFHS rules of competition, or
meets or events which meet a minimum for competitiveness set by the Chair of the Sport Committee and determined to be valid by the USATF staff member responsible for verification.
Indoor qualifying standards excepting the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon, must be attained on or after Saturday, November 15, 2013 through Sunday, February 16, 2014.
Qualifying standards for the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon may be attained on or after January 1, 2013 through Sunday, February 16, 2014.
Fully automatic timing (F.A.T.) is the only method of timing acceptable for qualifying marks for events equal to or shorter than 400 meters (denoted by *).
Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be F.A.T. times.
A manual time may be used for qualifying for running events of 800 meters and longer and race walk events only if no F.A.T. qualifying time exists for the race during the qualifying period. A manual time may not supersede any F.A.T. qualifying time for an event. Qualifying manual times, for eligible events, not already listed, are always the F.A.T. qualifying time without the last zero for men and the F.A.T. qualifying time minus 0.14 for women. Manual times will be converted for seeding purposes using USATF Rule 166.
All performances are subject to verification. For information on what constitutes an acceptable meet for qualifying purposes, please email
at the USATF National Office.
Automatic qualification, as described in USATF Rule 8 (Automatic Qualification) shall not abrogate any entry requirements other than the qualifying requirements for a championship. However, the athlete must enter the meet and declare their intent to compete.
The Sport Committee Chair will adjust the standards, where necessary, 45 days prior to the competition, based on received entries at that time. Therefore, early submission of an entry close to the standard is advised.
