You know not to take iron and calcium at the same time, do you? Calcium inhibits iron absorption. Take them separately at different times.

Anyways, this is part of what freaks me out about diet. Crap like this I have to plan around. I hate that half of LRC is encouraging my neurosis and the other half is telling me to just let loose. Where the hell are all of the people who have actually found the middle ground?
i found a middle ground, but only because my wife is such a good cook and organizer. Frankly. We always prepare a cooked dinner, we all have to be there at the table, and the meal is always healthy. So a vote for hanging out with the right people.
I would probably be a nutritional mess without my family setting expectations.
one fun thign to do is to buy a cookbook and cook your way through it. I did that with mexican food this year - cooking is a creative act - you get a real feeling of accomplishment completing a recipe and having other people eat it.
