we seem to not be in agreement.
Noon on saturday, bring a jersey.
as for the course, the mapmyrun link didnt open for me, whats Maidu park? is that in sac?
i think anything along the bike trail would be best, as there are markers at every 1/2 mile. i liked the idea of finishing at the capitol, but running through traffic is too unsafe.
ps my jersey is black/white and represents a local sacramento club
Does anyone in California want to race me this Saturday, December 21st?

If you'll be in So Cal, Rose Bowl Pasadena area, in the early evening for an easy run and a meal just let me know. I'll be racing that morning but can always get an easy run later on in the day.
-
Looks like I'm a little late to the party.
If the Sac race falls thru or if you feel like doubling up on races tomorrow, then I will race you, LetsRace.com.
I live in Martinez, about 15 miles east of San Francisco (or 60 miles west of Sacramento). There's a loop on the Martinez Shoreline which would make a perfect 6K course (2 loops).

Maidu park is in Roseville, the loop Scissors drew out is all on bike path. Here it is on gmap-pedometer: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6160990

Not sure how far away that is from you. If you want to make a course somewhere else, I'm fine with it if Scissors is. I'll show up wherever you two decide. Right now I'm planning on Maidu Park since he drew up a course there. -
Yeah, Maidu is in Roseville, about 20 minutes east of Sacramento. If that works for OP and Mario let's do it there. Nice loop, no cars/traffic, plenty of eateries if anyone wants some food afterwards.
I am up for Sac State if it's easier for OP but out and back on the bike path isn't real fun. -
Maidu park it is. 1 loop or 2 loops? i'm down for either.
and i may have my buddy in roseville come down and take pictures or something from his bike. so letsrun can be happy -
1 loop. See you tomorrow at noon!

-
redsax, try reading the comments before posting. a meetingplace has been set up. feel free to show up
-
I will be checking this tomorrow.

If you're basing your strategy off of last year's race, I'll add that I mentioned the course out to be 2.13 miles.
-
take some pics/video this time so we know it actually happened. plus it just makes it cooler to see some action of the race/prerace.

Anyone else having trouble viewing the course map? Sounds like this is on for Maidu Park, Roseville, CA tomorrow at noon. I want to come watch, but that's kind of hard without knowing where the race is precisely. Maidu Park is pretty big.
I do agree, Maidu is perfect for this type of race though. Nice paved paths with no vehicles. -
Sorry to see I came in too late. I'll be driving to Orange County from San Diego tomorrow late afternoon with a runner friend to meet another runner friend. Of course I'm in the worst shape of the 3 (though I'm no slouch). There should be more of these, I love the concept of not knowing what your up against and how that affects race strategy. And of course its a great opportunity to further the camaraderie of the running community, can't wait to hear about it!

I set the link to public. Any luck now?
We will be starting on Johnson Ranch Road just past the school where the inner bike path loop meets the Road, base of the hill.
I think I will be wearing a blue jersey

This version works. mapmyrun one still does not. I guess you have to be signed in? In any case, excellent course.
You guys going clockwise or counter? -
