Why all this bickering over a VOLUNTEER coach position at WSU?!
Let's talk about REAL coaching positions.
WHO is retiring?!

Texas Tech
NC State
Middle Tennessee State
Who is retiring from Ga Tech??
Is Piane(ND), Helmer(IN), Kittley(TT) Retiring??
None of them are retiring. Someone who has no idea what is going on just listed schools with coaches that are older. this happens every few years.
Maybe one of them will retire, I am not sure. None of those coaches would be telling someone that is going to post on letsrun about it.
Dont waste anyones time by posting a list of older coaches.
Where did you see the posting. Can't fid anything on NU's Site

Inside sources said he had an affair with one of the athletes
I think Helmer has cancer and there may be a chance he retires soon. Pretty sure that is well documented. A man from my era. Good coach. Good man.

We really appreciate your Ron Helmer rumor. Thanks for being so sensitive and understanding toward the Helmer family. You really are a douche!

You are obviously the douche. There have been a number of articles written about Ron and his situation over the last couple of months. This is no big secret and it is something that is spoken about openly. Grow up.
Why am I not surprised someone from Akron has no idea what they are talking about. Another example why they should have never let you guys into the conference.
Fire up Chips!
Um.... Let's get back to coaching jobs open...ok WSU???

Reading comprehension, Mr. Cross Hogg! Who is the douche now???
And Helmer plans to keep doing that for the foreseeable future. He was already working on a contract extension with Glass before he learned about the illness, and with the blessing of his doctors, he signed a five-year deal shortly after the stem cell transplant. Provided that he doesn’t have any setbacks, he wants to coach as long as his body will allow.
“Sick or not,” Helmer said, “I’ve always wondered if I would be the person that would have the ability to retire. I’m doing something I love, and I’m getting paid. I have that every day challenge that’s always there. That challenge that athletics and competition brings to motivate me and drive me. If I go into retirement void of that, what is it that I’m going to find to take the place of that? I don’t know.”
Attention Cross Hog!!
Attention Cross Hog!!
Helmer signed a five year extension in the same article that you linked. Looks like you got owned by a freakin Zip from Akron! So, what does that make you?
Helmer brother is the legendary coach at Southwestern College an NAIA school in Kansas and is stepping down after this season so I wouldn't be surprised to see him helping out at Indiana in the near future.
What's happening at Illinois?

Didn't he sign a 5-year contract in '11? Doesn't mean he couldn't step down earlier (and, good lawd, anyone who knows anything hopes he does).
