Dartmouth will soon be posting a throws position I believe. It sure is late in the year and still movement. Crazy.

Lew Hartzog was the coach back in the 60's and yes they had some great guys back then.

Your list conveniently has cut offs that leave of 1 or more people out on each mark. Also, you should take another look at what it takes to make the final/score at ACC. The number is closer to 15 different individuals all being MVC-level recruits out of high school. Perhaps we can disagree on those numbers but I wish Sparks and the Irish the best of luck going forward. A little too soon to be so negative about this hire.
You are incorrect. The 4 people I listed were the only ones that would have ranked in the ACC top 15 last year. Those are the facts. He may be good at developing mediocre HS kids to MVC scorers, but he better be good at recruiting big time kids and developing them as well. Whole different ball game and we will see how he does.
Comparing ND to Oregon is ridiculous on every front. Academic scholarships, easy admission standards and lax in-state tuition waives are abundant at Oregon. Plus Lanana is still the oversight and Phil Knight holds the checkbook. Both distance guys.

Connie Price-Smith, THE head coach at Southern Illinois, is leaving??!!!
Did she take the Temple HC job?
The Illinois State Coach (E F) took the Temple Job. Not the Southern Illinois Coach.
Columbia will have several distance positions open as Nicole Blood, Will Boylan-Pett and Elliott Blount have all decided not to return.
Connie Price isn't going anywhere.
The team was told last night that Sparks is headed to ND officially.
SIU is working on an emergency hire, yet no idea who.

No, all new hires with minimal experience are considered guilty until proven innocent. Hata's go'n hate.[quote]Suggestion wrote:

So true. Too many haters
I suck I applied for 15 jobs and didn't get a contact.
It's really a shame what happened at ND. Turner has already made himself some enemies inside the athletic department and the XC/distance program will be in tough shape with all the scholarships cut. Tim Connolly got a very raw deal in the whole thing, he's a class act and won't have a problem landing a head job elsewhere if he wants it. Wonder if Turner will even bother holding the home XC meets or if he'll cancel those too. Way better candidates out there than Sparks. Irish eyes aren't smiling.

34 applications over 3 years. 2 interviews, both part-time, 0 offers. get used to it, or leave the racket for a real job, which i have done.
(btw, my stats were better than most hires: multiple years HC experience, team NCAA Championship appearances in xc, coached all-americans from 200m through distance events + relays; all-academic teams, etc).
