Money is on gray he has had some solid workouts lately. Partied like a rockstar tonight so i doubt he'd be ready in a week
I just found this thread (working on week that was and was wondering if anyone was talking about G. Fernandez). Glad to hear people are at least talking about Fernandez.
I was looking for Employee 1.1 (Steve Soprano) in the Club Nats results and saw his name before German Fernandez. I couldn't believe it.
128 2169 Steven Soprano M 26 68/179 M2529 Team Run Flagstaff AZ 34:03 5:29
168 1960 German Fernandez M 23 61/118 M2024 Nike OR 34:37 5:35
Nor could he. He said it was a real thrill as they were running near each other for much of the race so the fans were all cheering 'Come on German' the whole race.
Now I'm pissed as we owe Employee 1.1 a $500 bonus. A standard part of all letsrun.com employee contracts is '$500 if you ever beat one of the greatest high school runnres in history.'
Employee 1.1 is just coming back from a marathon and didn't think he's in good shape so if he beat Fernandez, I gotta go with Webb in the 5k.
That being said, I dont think the trail like course suited Fernandez as he ran 14:55 at the NYRR 5k in November so basedoff that I'd have thought he'd beat employee 1.1.
My "talent doesn't go away" motto hopefully will come through in the next year or two for German.
My money is on Webb. That course obviously favored a trail runner more than a track guy.
german had flats on as well. That probably didnt help on that course. Doesn't explain his race completely, but helps.

Here is the high light video xcn.
GF is 1960. He stated last week on "runnerspace" that he was not in great shape, but was going to have running.
I'd like to see Daniel Komen in this race too.
My money is on Webb. He ran a 13:56 5K at the San Jose Turkey Trot a few weeks ago.
I wish someone has a straight story on Fernandez, it seems each effort is less impressive than the ones before it, he certainly is not making any progress, I am surprised he is still taking a spot in that group.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
