Not too shabby...best race in awhile.
WEBB IS BACK, BABY!
Finished right in front of zap fitness guy cole Atkins
pretty good time. has he ever run faster at 8k? I know that he won big 10s in xc, but not below 23:10. good to see him on the comeback trail. just some patience and gradual build-up will be the key to his 2014 campaign.
Honestly , Alan Webb used to crush comp like this at 8K ay least most of the gusy who beat him
I never get too enamored with a time on a road or XC course, opposition beaten, much better indicator
It's not about the time
ME SPEKS ENGRISH?
Two solid races in a row. Very good sign.

That makes no sense. The best indicator of fitness is the time run. There is no way to tell how fit someone is solely from who the opposition is.
The guy who finished right in front of him is a 13:44 runner: http://www.tfrrs.org/athletes/2181686.html

You know nothing.

What do you mean? What he said makes perfect sense. You have to look at place, time, competition, course, conditions, splits, everything to determine fitness. When you only look at the results, place and competition is the place to start.
Oh and there's one more important variable: DID HE LOOK RELAXED???

When Webb runs 23:10, it allows you to see that he's in at least 23:10 shape minimum. If you only have who he beat, then you would not be able to conclude his maximum or minimum fitness. All that tellls you is that Webb is able to beat whomever he beat.
He won the over 30 category

Even pace from his 10,000m PR works out to 22:04 for 8K.
Was he there to support his wife?
its curious for me though to see that the first five guys are all listed as being in the open race, yet webb is listed as being in his age category. probably looking too much into this, but is there a chance he didnt register for open and just ran what he felt like today.
regardless, while he used to crush guys like this in races years ago this ia a good sign because up until recently HE was the guy getting crushed, he's at least making progress back towards being the front runner in races like this.
