I think Gatlin could get Bolt in a 60. Gatlin is more of a speed 100 guy while Bolt is endurance. If Bolt was still in '08/09 shape then sure he'd win in a 60, but I doubt it now.
Gatlin - 60/100
Bolt - 100/200

Interesting that they got El G and Sally Kipyego to support Portland.
Actually it will be an excellent location. The Oregon Convention Center is technically next door and has acres of room for restaurants, sponsor displays, etc. The track will be in the building that used to hold the Portland Trailblazers, but in recent years has been used for Convention events. The Portland Light Rail system runs right by it and accesses into the Portland Airport and downtown Portland. The Lloyd Center (shopping) is a couple blocks away and the Convention Center itself is basically on the banks of the Willamette River which divides Portland between East and West sides. Lots of good restaurants and micro brew pubs in Portland. I'm stoked.

Nice! I'll definitely go! How much are tickets for World Indoors usually?
If I'm converting everything right, for a 3-day ticket to world indoors in Poland in 2014, the prices are about $125 to $400 depending on the seat.

Track Town USA/Nike will put on a great event. I remember when Portland used to sell out the old Portland Coliseum for track meets. They have lots of rabid track fans in Portland and Oregon in the whole, and they have the money (Nike and Phil Knight) and the organization, Track Town USA/Oregon Track Club/Nike to make a big splash.
Why would Nike have anything to do with an adidas event?

I'm not sure if you are confused by the Memorial Coliseum, or have only recently moved to Portland and lack historical knowledge, but the Oregon Convention Center is a stand alone building within a short walk of the Moda Center (aka Rose Garden) where the Blazers play and the Memorial Coliseum (where the Blazers played until 1995). The OCC has never held the Blazers either in practice or in a game as it is simply a convention center.
The OCC is NOT an athletic facility, but obviously can be configured to accommodate both the track and spectator seating based on the bid. My guess is that the 8700 seating capacity was easier to do in the OCC than the Moda Center which seats 20,000 and would obviously have too many empty seats and many seats too far from the action. The Coliseum needs too many improvements to be a viable venue is my guess there.
My understanding is that the track will be installed inside the Memorial Coliseum (now going by a different name?) and the various hospitality, sponsorship, events, etc. will be across the street (connected walkways) in the Convention Center.
This is what I found on the Oregon Convention Center. Looks pretty cool!! http://oregoncc.org/
Typical Nike bs it's sad how corrupt our sport is

NOP pharmacists gonna be busy.
Yes, the Oregon Convention Center is nice. It's right on the main MAX line (so there is a train going directly from the airport to the Convention Center). Not a whole lot of great restaurants or anything (or even nice hotels) near by, but the MAX train can get you downtown really quickly and the streetcar (which is slower than walking, actually) can take you to other areas.
It's amusing trying to imagine the track inside one of the big convention rooms, but I think there is enough room. And the building is very nice.
summary paragraph on the front page says 2014?

The Memorial Coliseum is too far away (and across a raised freeway) from the Convention Center to build a skyway! Maybe you are thinking about the Rose Quarter (where the Trailblazers play), now the Moda Center, which is next to Memorial Coliseum.
No, it's going to be held in the Convention Center. The Coliseum is old and dingy. I asked about this, it will not be in the Coliseum, period.
How much would tickets be?
Well , Portland has lots of work to do since it really has not hosted a world class indoor track meet with and without a world class indoor track facility in a city where track and field is not king.
Yes there are some track enthusiasts in the city of Roses , its not a track town.
Nike has the bank and Im sure they can assign staff to work on it , Vin lives and works south in Eugene. USATF offers nothing in support outside of making dinner reservations at expensive restaurants for themselves and hosting cocktail parties on Nike's dime.
As long as there is not another conflict with a convention in town hotels should be ok , city can have hotel space problems when busy.
