So far, Grant Sisserson (frosh PVer, 5.00), Bruno H-R (46.89 400), and Dan Scott (14.70 TJ) are all winners at GMU for the Big Red.

And at Bucknell, freshman Kacie (sp?) Hargett moved (very temporarily, I'm sure) to second on the Ivy jav list with a win at 45.30/148-7.
Rob Robbins also won, adding another couple feet to his Ivy-list lead (and school record) with 75.88/248-11.
Kelsey Hay of Penn hits 160 in the Jav for school record and a solid #3 all time for Ivy female Jav throwers. An impressive series at George Mason Invitational.

Woah - is Geoghegan out for the season????? He ran at Sam Howell, barely edging out a Princeton frosh Will Paulson for the win in the 1500 by 0.02.
I don't know if I will be doing an updated projection for the women this week due to my schedule. If I have time, I can try, but no promises.
Also, does anyone know any potentially scoring women who are out for the season for various reasons, so I can take them out of my next round of projections? I've already taken out Columbia's Tara Richmond (HJ), Princeton's Cecelia Barowski (400), and Harvard's Martina Salander (hept., 100H, SP).
Also, fun., do your projections include the results of the Bucknell Invitational? I see they are not available yet on tfrrs, but they are available through the live results as PDFs...
I see that only six men show in the decathlon--presumably only that many current Ivy athletes have college marks in the event.
It's going to be interesting to see what Austin Jamerson, Cornell's frosh, can do. Rather atypically for them, Cornell has not had anyone run the event this season yet.

I don't believe that Cornell's Shearer, who ran 3,000m indoors in 9:11, has competed in any meet this outdoor season--no idea about injury/illness status, but I'd have expected her to open by now...

I would say the decathlon will be interesting this year as no one has completed one yet this outdoor season (according to TFRRS). Similar with the women, as only two women have done a heptathlon to date this season.
Some good results at Larry Ellis:
1. Mattis over 60 meters twice. 60.04 and 61.87 (203")! Followed by fellow Quaker Freshman Noah Kennedy White at 170'10.
2. 4 kids over 55 feet in Shot put:
Cook, Chris Princeton 56-10.25
Liokumovich, Igor Harvard 55-11.25
Rushton, Scott Princeton 55-09.75
Brenza, Jacob Penn 55-03.50
3. Kelsey Hay of Penn over 150 again: 46.34m 152-00
4. Ratcliffe of Princeton launches a huge PR: 70.28m 230-07
5. Sullivan of Harvard tosses Sullivan, 64.00m 210-00
Nice progressions before Penn Relays and Heps.
Rachel Sorna ran 9:43 for the steeplechase at Princeton. That's a new Ivy record, no? She doubled back in the 1500 later that same evening--gotta wonder whether they're thinking about repeating the monster triple she ran last year at Heps. Anyway, I have to think they'd try at least the 10,000/SC double--I believe she's the fastest Ivy Leaguer (career marks) in both, by a good margin.

New Ivy League record, NCAA Leader, Cornell school record, and I believe #11 on the NCAA all-time list (she's just outside of thee #10 spot).
And yes, she does have the best career mark in the 10k. She could also challenge in the 5k as well, although Neer is looking like she can repeat (provided that D'Ags focuses on her 1500/3k/4x8 triple like she's done the last 2 years) and Giordano could make an upset as she broke 16 this past weekend for the first time.
Updated my projections for the women - will share in separate post.

Snapshots of the current season, heading into Penn Relays
This is a quick virtual "scoring" of the current season's Ivy marks as reported on
http://tfrrs.org/lists/1278.html
. I didn't include the 4x800s or multis. I rounded down to whole numbers.
For each squad, I've listed track points (individual), relay points, field points, and total--in that order. Apologies in advance for any arithmetic errors.
MEN
Cornell 66 + 20 +83 = 169
Princeton 78 + 5 + 59 = 142
Harvard 52 + 12 + 44 = 108
Penn 47 + 10 +34 = 91
Columbia 31 + 4 + 10 = 45
Brown 10 + 10 + 9 = 29
Dartmouth 16 + 1 + 8 = 25
Yale 10 + 0 + 1 = 11
WOMEN
Harvard 82 + 16 + 45 = 143
Cornell 96 + 20 + 24 = 140
Dartmouth 63 + 6 + 17 = 87 (roundings)
Columbia 47 + 3 + 22 = 72
Princeton 17 + 5 + 44 = 66
Brown 7 + 0 + 56 = 63
Penn 14 + 12 + 19 = 45
Yale 14 + 0 + 19 = 33
Obviously this weekend's competition should shake things up, and perhaps give us a sense of the teams' legitimate 4x8 potential. I'm aware that the Penn multis have already been contested; they still don't shed much light on potential scoring at Heps in those events, though.
Anyway, for the men the Heps currently shape up as a last-gasp affair...because from what I can see, some Cornell "scorers" have been out of action since the early season. (No word re illness/injury coming from Ithaca, or heard on the street here in NYC, however.) Princeton has by far the best event coverage; as indoors, the Big Red will be hoping that other teams will drain projected distance points from the Tigers. PS I note the continued rapid rise of the Penn men.
Meanwhile, the women's meet doesn't shape up nearly as close as the above scoring would suggest. Cornell currently projects a ton of points in the distance races, mostly because the 3,000 and 10,000 have been lightly contested so far. (Example: right now, Sorna's time for 3,000m over barriers is faster than anyone else's on the flat!) Harvard, with excellent event coverage, actually projects as a clear favorite at this point--but look out for Columbia. My hometown Lions also have good event coverage and could be in the thick of things by the second weekend of May.
I'll try to put together a final edition of these projections early in Heps week.
Welp, here it is Sunday night and only part of the Penn Relays results appear on tfrrs--not the first time that's happened, IIRC, but annoying nevertheless.
Anyway, a couple things show up right away: the Heps women's 3,000m list is completely rewritten, as we knew it would be; and the men's 4x800 list is now fairly representative (the women's, not so much).
I'm going to wait to do men's projections after next weekend.
1 pre entries announcement (sunday ish)

HOWEVER, here is something interesting to look at in the mean time.
In response to Penn's Tommy Awad breaking 4 minutes at Penn Relays. I took a look at the Ivy League 800-10K among FR and SO to see how Coach Dolan has done at Penn with his own recruited guys
Here is a scored meet among collegiate PBs for Freshmen and Sophomores.

Love your work, fun.! Yeah, as far as young MD/D runners are concerned, it looks like Penn and the seven dwarfs--makes this fall's Heps xc meet look interesting, dunnit?
After this past weekend, I just couldn't resist making a virtual scoring that included all the changes to the outdoor season's tfrrs listings. Maybe I'll still do another of these after next weekend, maybe not...

For the men the Heps currently shape up as a even more of a last-gasp affair. If we remove projected points in the relays and decathlon (always iffy going into Heps, especially the latter), Cornell is up over Princeton by only 137-123. And notice that Harvard (117) definitely becomes part of the conversation!
The post-declaration analysis by fun. is going to be very, very interesting. (Health status of some major players may be key.) Last spring, Princeton did a great job in the longer races--if Penn's Awad is doubling, I'm sure a lot of his biggest fans will be wearing red!
Projected scoring for the women's meet now looks closer to what we might have expected. Much credit to Cornell, which still projects a worthy second despite being shut out in eight(!) events; but the meet is clearly Harvard's to lose, and with its fine event coverage that's not likely--not to mention that the Crimson haven't posted a 4x8 time yet!
Speaking of the 4x8, Dartmouth doesn't have a mark there either. If Abbey does her "usual" Heps stint, the Big Green should see a net gain of quite a few points--enough to get to triple digits?
Glad to see TFRRS has fixed their uploading errors with the Penn Relays field events (someone clearing 1,400m in the HJ? Yeah right, lol)
The women's race might not be as tight between Harvard and Cornell as Cornell has 4 of the 6 scoring positions on the TFRRS standings and usually a lot of the top-tier people make their 10k seasonal debut at Heps.
Speaking of the top-tier distance runners, no Maksim Korolev marks yet for outdoors that I see... think he'll debut at Heps or is he red-shirting the season?
I'm planning to do one more round of the projected women's scoring for early next week. I know there are a few smaller meets taking place this weekend (although, a number of Columbia studs are in the entry lists for Payton Jordan 800m and 1500m this weekend -
) so I'll try to wait for those before I publish.
Ah, yes, do not forget about the Abbey factor for Dartmouth at Heps, particularly when it's looking like Dana Giordano can hold her own for the 5k.
Just a note.... None of the current Penn Track and Field athletes were recruited by Steve Dolan... Not that he hasn't done a heck of a job coaching since he's been there! There has been a ton or work done creating this Penn surge before his arrival. Kudos to the Penn staff on their work reviving the program!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Coach Dolan is in his second year at the helm of Penn xc/tf.
I suppose it's possible, but I find it difficult to believe that Steve had nothing to do with the recruiting of this year's freshmen. Yes, I'd bet that he did not *initiate* contact with most of them--that mostly takes place in a student-athlete's junior year of high school, if not earlier--but it's hard to imagine that he was not involved in "sealing the deal" with them in the winter and spring of 2012-2013.
I do completely agree that Penn has had *several* sound years of recruiting, and that Dolan walked into a nice situation with a lot of talent already on hand--a nice gift from his predecessor(s).
